    Hi,

Upon logging in, it seems the ftp login doesn’t have the right access.

I could not see or access your wordpress files.

    I can only see this – http://screencast.com/t/HcXhN5x6x7U

Kindly check again and let us know.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

Please provide us the access to the root directory of your WordPress installation. That should mostly be the public_html.

You have been given access to the public_html folder

    Can you not see it?

    Hi there,

The errors you get in your WP dashboard are coming from following folders :

    x Backup
    x Backup 2

You’ve renmaed X folder and it’s causing the error.

Please connect to FTP and remove extra x folders from /wp-content/themes

    Thanks.

    Hi

Those folders were only renamed after the error occurred. I could only reinstall the theme manually so I didn’t know if I should have deleted the folder or renamed it and installed the new version.

I will delete those folders but can you work out why the website is recently reverting to white after an automatic update and I need to reinstall it again?

The website was written in visual composure so is that a potential problem?

    Thanks for updating this thread!

You are experiencing a white screen which usually means there is a fatal PHP error. Can you please enable WP_DEBUG mode? You can do this by opening wp-config.php and adding

define( ‘WP_DEBUG’ , true ); just above /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ For example:

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);

/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
When you revisit the page with the white screen, you should have some error output describing the issue in more detail.

Please let us know how it goes.

    Thanks

Hi thanks for the response. Before I do that, can you let me know if that will help find out why the page goes white when the theme is automatically updated? Or can you only do it once the white screen is showing? At the moment the website is working fine but the issue is that it goes white after every upgrade and I have to go in and reinstall the x theme manually again.

    Thanks

    Hi There,

Yes, that will work only if white screen is showing. Doing that will give us the errors. Once we know the error, we can start checking which specific file have conflict or issues. Since the website is working fine already, no need to do it at the moment.

    Hi

This is getting out of control now. My page has gone white again and I am losing customers. I added the define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true); to the wp-config.php file and there are no error messages that I can see.

All I know is that the theme is broken again. This is happening all too often and I keep reinstalling the theme manually but it happens again without me knowing. The error message showing in the theme section is :

The following themes are installed but incomplete.

    Name Description
    x Stylesheet is missing. Delete

Please help me resolve this issue so it no longer occurs.

    Thanks

I have just looked at the website again and it is now using a totally different theme but as you can see it doesn’t look right because it isn’t the correct x theme that I want to use.

My hosting company has advised that I should ask you the following questions:

    1) Is there is a particular version of PHP that the theme was written for
    2) Is there are any unusual PHP options that should be enabled

Can you please help me get to the bottom of this

    Hi,

Upon checking, I can see the theme has many missing files. I was able to fix it by re-uploading the missing files.

    Kindly check on your end.

    Thanks

I couldn’t wait any longer so I have manually reinstalled the xtheme again. How can we stop this for constantly happening?
