fitloansParticipantHi
It seems like my website has automatically updated to the lastest x theme and I have just noticed that I can only see a white screen when trying to log into the website.
I have tried updating all the plugins but Cornerstone and WPBakery Visual Composer are unable to be updated via wordpress.
I am not experienced in websites so need to know how I can fix this issue. The website is now working under a different theme. Under themeco there is a message saying that this cornerstone licence is not validated. I clicked the fix link and entered my themeco licence but I get the following error message “We’ve checked the code, but it doesn’t appear to be an Cornerstone purchase code or Themeco license. Please double check the code and try again.”
Please advise what I can do to fix this and information you need.

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
A white screen usually means there is a fatal PHP error. Can you please enable WP_DEBUG mode? You can do this by opening
wp-config.phpand adding
define( 'WP_DEBUG' , true );just above/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */For example:define('WP_DEBUG', true); /* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */When you revisit the page with the white screen, you should have some error output describing the issue in more detail.
Let us know how it goes.

fitloansParticipantHi
Thanks for the reply. The white screen is no longer there as per my message. There was initially a white screen but once I updated the plugins and changed the theme so it is no longer white.
I will paste below what I am needing help on. Think I wasn’t clear on the problem before.

fitloansParticipantAlso here is an error code I am seeing under themes:
Template is missing. Standalone themes need to have a index.php template file. Child themes need to have a Template header in the style.css stylesheet.
How can I fix this?

LelyModeratorHi There,
Cornerstone is a free plugin when you’re using X theme. No need to validate Cornerstone as long as X theme is validated. I can’t see X theme when I visit Appearance > Themes. There’s seems to be a corrupted child theme but main X theme is missing. Please try reinstalling X theme. The update you made might not go through resulting to corrupt theme. After reinstalling again, please validate:https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/
Do let us know how this goes.

fitloansParticipantYes it worked when I reinstalled it. This has happened twice now. Do you know why xtheme needs to be reinstalled after an automatic upgrade?

NicoModeratorHi There,
It should not be reinstalled again. It should work properly upon updating. Probably there is an issue upon updating or there is restriction that cause this conflict. Please let us know again if this will happen again.
Thanks.

fitloansParticipantHi
Looks like the same problem has happened again. Every time there is an update it seems like my x theme stuffs up and I am left with a white page.
Can you look into this and determine why it is constantly happening? This is terrible from a customer point of view because I have no idea that the website has gone white so I am missing out on potential clients.
ThanksSeptember 12, 2016 at 11:35 pm #1172514
