Jussi TParticipantHi there,
My Visual Composer is completely unavailable when clicking on the blue logo next to the classic view.
I have upgraded WordPress to the latest, and i am really afraid of upgrading the X Theme
How can i get the visual composer back up and running easiest?

Jussi TParticipantHi
Is there a way to update the theme without losing all my work?
I’m asking because last time I believe I had to rebuild the whole website

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
It appears that you are several versions behind. I would recommend that you create a staging site. This is very useful because you can test drive any X updates in the staging area, do the customizations and troubleshooting without disrupting your live site. Once everything is perfect, you can easily and flawlessly proceed the update in the live site. To know how to create a staging area, please check out these articles:
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/
https://maintainn.com/2015/02/how-to-create-a-staging-site-for-wordpress/Our latest versions are:
X Theme: 4.6
Cornerstone: 1.3
Visual Composer: 4.12Please deactivate and delete X Shortcodes plugin. Please take note that X shortcodes and its functionality has been consolidated into Cornerstone which will be installed automatically when the latest X version is updated.
You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site. If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.
Please let us know how it goes.

Jussi TParticipantHi again,
I updated the X-theme, and i see a new version of the Visual Composer ( takes up a whole screen ), but i am still not able to access the old version of the Visual Composer.
How can i edit with that basic block based ( VisualComposer ) editing system?
September 10, 2016 at 1:21 am #1168972
Jussi TParticipantAlso it says:
” Hold up! The content has been modified outside of Cornerstone. Editing in Cornerstone will replace the current content. Do you wish to continue? ”
Is that a good alternative to visual composer and will it automatically Convert the material properly for Cornerstone to edit?
September 10, 2016 at 2:07 am #1169004
Jussi TParticipantThe reason i am asking the questions above, is that the new Visual Composer does not show the content correctly for the page.
I have updated:
-x-theme
-wordpress
-visual composer
( and -revolution slider )September 10, 2016 at 3:26 am #1169064
RadModeratorHi there,
You can’t edit visual composer content within cornerstone. They are the different builder, they aren’t cross compatible. What you’ll need to do is do it from scratch if you plan to use Cornerstone.
Would you mind providing more details about the older version? Are you trying to downgrade it?
Thanks!
September 10, 2016 at 4:36 pm #1169534
Jussi TParticipantHi, thanks
No not downgrading, what I mean is the visual composer ( tab ) that used to be accessible right next to the “visual” and the “text editing” tabs in word press
It’s basically the same issue I had when to posting the topic and the the tab just disappeared in word press and now after updating everythin am I still do not see that tab
So I see the visual composer logo with which I can navigate to the front end editor but there’s no back end editor

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
I got following error on my first attempt to login to WP dashboard :
You have been locked out due to too many login attempts. For the meantime try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Hope it helps.

Jussi TParticipantHi,
Thanks but that does not work.
I deactivated everything except visual composer
