sininviernoParticipantHello!
I’ve been playing around with the slider because I’ll be wanting to add a video background to my landing page soon.
This is as far as I got: http://sininvierno.com/inicio-tests/My main issue is video won’t loop, and once it’s finished the loading animation of youtube will loop eternally instead.
Also, there’s no sound from the video, which is exactly what I want, but I haven’t configured that at all so I worry about whether it will be mute on all devices etc.
Thanks!

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Please add this video as slide background to display its sound. Also enable loop from video settings.
Hope it helps.

sininviernoParticipantChristopher I have tried adding the video as slide background but changed it because it does not fill the screen the way I want it to and it displays youtube controls which I’d prefer not to.
Also, I don’t want sound, but I just wanted to make sure this was going to behave like that in every situation.
Is it possible to loop it as I’m doing it now? If not, How can I get the video placed as a slide background to look exactly as mine is looking now?Thank you

JadeModeratorHi there,
Youtube standards have change. It now requires playlist with Video ID for loop to work. And that is defining your Video ID two times. Please set this value to your youtube’s argument input under your slider’s Source Setting > Argument Youtube
&version=3&loop=1&playlist=VIDEO_IDAnd change the video ID to your youtube’s ID.
Let us know how it goes.

sininviernoParticipantHi Jade
I’ve tried what you suggested, which meant adding the video as background of a slide within my slider instead of “optional background video” on the page as I was doing it befora. It now loops, but it forced me to define a cover image and the loading process is not very elegant, neither is the looping.
I’m guessing youtube is probably part of the issue, and I wouldn’t mind hosting my video elsewhere to make my life easier. What I’d like is for video to loop seamlessly if possible and the first loading to be more elegant, instead of loading the cover photo halfway and then going black all of the sudden while the animation for loading sits in the middle…
Thanks for your help

RadModeratorHi there,
Yes, the problem with Youtube is you can’t directly control it compared to HTML5 video. What you need is direct URL of the video file hosted somewhere else, then set it as HTML5 video background.
Thanks!

sininviernoParticipantHello Rad
Finding a good Html5 free hosting service doesn’t seem so simple. I’ve just been googling it for a while and the search results where confusing.
I have tried using a vimeo hosted video and it does work better. However, I didn’t get it to loop. Is there an argument I can add for it to loop? Or is it as limited as youtube? Thanks

RadModeratorHi there,
It’s similar to youtube, it uses its own player and arguments/parameters. Please check this https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/vimeo-sliders-revolution-loops-not-playing-in-loop/
And you may provide your login credentials in private reply if the suggested workaround isn’t effective.
Thanks!

sininviernoParticipantI’ve made the changes live in the main front page. http://www.sininvierno.com
Video is still not looping, but what worries me the most is that it does not load on mobile…
Help, please! 🙂June 20, 2016 at 12:02 am #1050001
RadModeratorHi there,
On what mobile you’re testing it on? The video is hosted on video, the video loading is within their player and just embedded to the slider as iframe. And autoplay isn’t possible on mobile, it needs user interaction to play it. Since it’s set as background video then the user won’t able to play it.
I created a test page here http://sininvierno.com/slider-test/, you can use that as reference 🙂
Cheers!

sininviernoParticipantHello Rad!
Thanks for the test page, I can see it now has user interaction and loops.
It also has sound, which is not what I wanted but is not a major issue.
The reason why I set it as background is I wanted it to occupy the entire width of the website. In this way you’ve done it, it won’t fit the device width, neither on mobile nor on desktop. It will always have black by the sides and I don’t like that. Is it possible to have everything I want: loop, user interaction and full width responsiveness? Would I have to change the header aspect ratio?
Please let me know. Thanks againM

RadModeratorHi there,
You’ll have to utilize all other settings. It looks fine on my end and it’s full width, would you mind providing more information about your test? Like what device, browser, version, and more.
This is slider and Vimeo’s limitation.
Thanks!
