fatheaddrummerParticipantHi there,
I am sorry to ask for that, as this is a common question for sure, but I couldn’t find a good solution for now.
I want to add a video gallery with 15 Videos on my site, WITHOUT impacting the loading speed a lot. For now I have used the pageable container in visual composer and embedded a single video on each “page” by also using some custom css, making the screens smaller….But this solution seems very heavy and I definitely need a more light version….

Could you please help me out with this? Thank you so much!

fatheaddrummerParticipantHi Thanks,
I feel like the better version for me is to trigger a video lightbox with thumbnail images.
I have tried to set up a test image, but it doesn’t work.I inserted a small picture, set the link button and added a youtube url.
Also I put a lightbox in the same container in visual composer and left the css class like it is called by default. When I click on the image, the lightbox opens up, but there’s nothing in it…
Is there maybe a better way to insert a picture gallery that triggers video lightbox?
Thanks for your help!

ChristianModeratorHey there,
I see there’s an error with Google Maps which might cause the Youtube video not to display. If you have a map in your page, please remove it for a moment. If not, please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Thanks.

Nabeel AModeratorHi Christian,
Thank you for providing the credentials. I checked your lighbox image. You forgot to give the lightbox selector class to the image. I added that and the lightbox is opening fine. However the video URL you’re using is not playing on my end. I checked it with another video link and it worked fine. Please check your video URL if it doesn’t play on your end too.
You can also use the following shortcode to play video in a lightbox:
[image class="videoLightbox" type="rounded" src="image-1.jpg" link="true" href="//player.vimeo.com/video/84751465" alt="Text"] [lightbox selector=".videoLightbox" opacity="0.875" prev_scale="0.75" prev_opacity="0.75" next_scale="0.75" next_opacity="0.75" orientation="horizontal"]Hope this helps!

fatheaddrummerParticipantHi Nabeel,
Thank you very much for helping me out!
I tried another video for now, but I can’t get it to be shown or played in the lightbox. The Lightbox indeed is opening, but no video. I have delete my browser cache and also updated flash player (?!)UPdate:
Interesting thing: When I choose an image and then insert an embed URL and click on “update” the page, it will delete not only the URL but also the image src is deleted. That’s why there’s no Video dislayed, but why is it deleting all the time?
Any other ideas?
Could you again check it?
Thank you very much!

fatheaddrummerParticipantThanks for helping me out! This solution also works on my side!
I’ve added the same solution to the related page and this also works. It just seems, that I can’t get it to work with youtube. Could you tell me, should I use the youtube embed code, or the youtube URL, or just a part of the URL?Thanks a lot!

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for the updates! If you are using a video player, you will need to use the direct path of the video file e.g. filename.mp4
And if you are using a video embed element, then you really have to use the Youtube Embed code.
Hope this explains it.

fatheaddrummerParticipantI want to use an embed youtube element, but everytime I am adding the embed code and update the page it’s gonna delete the code and also the image source.
Could you please try adding a youtube video? Either you will see what I mean, or I am doing something wrong. Thanks!
