Hi there,

Do you know or every video extension is working on mobile and tablet formats?
On https://forevermusic.nl/fm-final/ I have used a mp4 video for testing: https://forevermusic.nl/img/2280635.mp4
Works perfect on desktop but not on mobile and tablet.
Does MPEG, MPG, MOV works via Cornerstone on tablet and mobile?

Thanks for writing in! .mp4 format works on mobile too. You can also add an .ogv format as your fallback, so your video will be supported on wide variety of browsers.

Thanks for your answer. When you check: https://forevermusic.nl/fm-final/ on a iphone or samsung phone the video doesn’t come up. On desktop it works perfect. I’ve used as backgroud type: VIDEO and paste the URL https://forevermusic.nl/img/2280635.mp4 in the video section. It seems that uploading mp4 files will not except to the media libary.

Hi there,

It seems you are using the video as background but video bakcground is disabled for mobile due to performance issue. You need to use a poster image to display that on mobile devices.

-Is there a way to show videos on mobile devices instead of a poster image?
-So far I understeand now, you can upload a video with a correctly extension to the media libary en paste a image in the poster section for mobile devices?

Not sure or you support this slider revolution plugin for some extra help but i will give it a try:

1.) https://forevermusic.nl/fm-final/home-met-video-sectie/ When you hover over the movie there comes a pause / play button. Do you kwow where I can disable this button?
2.) The video doesn’t play automaticly on mobile. In the FAQ of the plugin i have found this:

When a video is added as the slide’s main background:

The video will always autoplay on desktop computers
The video will never have any user-controls
The video will not autoplay on mobile devices (mobile devices don’t allow this)
The video can not be played manually on mobile devices
The video’s “Cover Image” will always be shown instead of the video

Hi There,

We do support to certain extension 🙂

1- Please add the following code to Appereane > customizer > Custom > CSS

.tp-caption:hover .tp-video-play-button {
    display: none !important;
}

2- That is correct, just the post image will work in order to save mobile data.

– The video works perfect. But can you tell me where I can find the setting in the slider revolution plugin that cliking on the video is not possible? Because clicking will stop the video: https://forevermusic.nl/fm-final/home-met-video-sectie/

– Can you tell me who I can ad css classes to the poster image url? I could not found the setting to change the height and width for the reponsive poster settings. (see printscreen).

You can add your video as background video if you don’t like it to stop on click.

Hi Paul,

Not sure what happen but the background video section in Cornerstone doesnt work anymore. Importing the mp4 video (4MB) intp the media library doesnt seem to work. But the video’s are uploaded as I can see via FTP… Checked the cpanel backend from the provider but there is no quota problem. Any idea or I have blocked this video section accidentally?
And is there a limit on the size of the video’s importing as background in Cornerstone?
