RadModeratorHi there,
I could check it for you, would you mind providing your site’s login credentials and Instagram too?
Thanks!

Rue NelModeratorHello Martin,
Could you please verify your account? I think this is what has cause the issue. You need to have a verified email so that the api will properly work.
Please let us know how it goes.

martinziajaParticipantDo you mean at Themeco, The Grid or Instagram? I’ll see what I can do…
So….
Instagram accounts can only be verified for famous and/or public figures.
The Grid I can’t register, because it’s sold as bundle in the X-Theme.
And my account here is verified as well.Any ideas?

martinziajaParticipantUnfortunately, there came another new error message. Right now I don’t have the time to figure that out any further. I hope, that in the future it will be easier again to implement instagram on The Grid…
But thanks for your help anyway!

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Sorry to hear it.
Regarding the way The Grid and Instagram integration works is really not up to us but to the THE GRID plugin developers.
When you have time please reach us and we will be happy to assist you.
Thanks,
Joao

nachoParticipantHi team
I still have the same issue with The Grid and instagram integration. I’ve been following a few threads on this for a while.
I have updated to version 1.6 of The Grid and have updated the Access Token in the Grid’s global settings (Social API menu).
I generated the Access Token here (http://instagram.pixelunion.net/) It doesn’t make sense to me to go thru http://jelled.com/instagram/access-token as suggested in your earlier post, since I am not creating a new instagram app.Given X-Theme is using the Grid plugin, can you please work on getting a solution to this common problem many of us are encountering?

JackKeymasterHi there @Nacho,
Thanks for writing in! Can you post your URL please? Requiring an API access token was unfortunately, an update to the Instagram API. Which has added complexity to using The Grid with Instagram, though we could add a guide in our Knowledge base on how to generate the key.
Thanks!

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Could please regenerate your Instagram API and authenticate it? To know more how you can do this, please check it here:

Sam GParticipantHi Team
Please provide clear instructions (in consultation with The Grid developers) in order for X Theme users to be able to easily embed their Instagram feeds onto their websites.
We’re paying money for a theme that includes plugins that we should be able to use to their full extent. Per this thread there is quite a bit of back-and-forth around who needs to provide what when it comes to Instagram threads using The Grid. Personally, I’ve spent hours trying to figure it all out with no success..
As support for X-theme, please provide clear instructions somewhere on how to do this.
– Creating an App using Instagram
– Recieving approval
– Generating relevant Access Tokens using the App
– Creating “clients” if we need to?
– Anything else that is required..Apologies in advance if instructions have already been provided – and please direct me to them if so.
Thanks,

RadModeratorHi Sam,
With same instruction, it works on our end. Not sure what else to forward to them since it works. What we can do for now is test it for you, but providing admin and Instagram login credentials.
There are many possible reasons and error, and they have all related to Instagram setup and not due to the plugin and theme.
But most of them forgot to authenticate their site by accessing this URL
https://instagram.com/oauth/authorize/?client_id=%5B{CLIENT ID}%5D&redirect_uri={SITE URL}&response_type=token&scope=public_contentReplacing {CLIENT ID} and {SITE URL} accordingly. Then the token should be given from that URL once it’s authorized. Again, this is Instagram’s standard and not by the plugin.
Thanks for understanding.

joelm119ParticipantI was having trouble with this and this is the solution I found:
Follow the instructions here:
http://jelled.com/instagram/access-token
However, in step 3, combine that with the instruction in this forum by typing this:
Instruction from this forum have extra characters, instructions from jelled are missing scope=public_content
Works like magic after that.

joelm119Participant^Sorry, I must have copied the wrong thing. What you need to put in your address bar is this:
You don’t need the %5b and %5d in the above directions, and of course replace [CLIENT_ID_HERE] with the client ID you get from Instagram
