mattvalleParticipantHello there,
The instagram feed no longer works on my site.
Is there a problem related to new rules or something like it ?
It was working just perfectly until recently and I touched nothing…
Can you please have a look ?June 13, 2016 at 3:47 pm #1040298

Prasant RaiModeratorHello Matt,
Thanks for writing in!
Following an API update from Instagram (effective June 1, 2016), plugins for integrating Instagram posts on WordPress sites will not work properly unless they are updated. You need to get a new access token by using “Sign in with Instagram” button.

Thanks.

Amma1ParticipantHi,
where do I find this ‘sign in using instagram’ button? is it on the instagram page or is it from somewhere in the wordpress dashboard?

Amma1ParticipantToo are you saying this is something that The Grid needs to update or is it something that I can do?
June 14, 2016 at 9:10 pm #1042563
FriechModeratorHi There,
The problem likely lies with Instagram’s new API policies that were updated June 1. We will wait for the The Grid author to release an update, pretty sure they are aware of this issue and maybe working on fix now.
Thanks.

Amma1ParticipantHi,
From what I can see there is a fix for this available in version 1.6 but we seem to still be on version 1.4 (I understand that the version we get bundled with X only gets updated periodically):
This is where I found it: http://bit.ly/1XYlwVT
If you have not updated The Grid to v1.6.0 and you have not regenerated your Instagram Access Token as mentioned in the admin message from The Grid (v1.6.0 and if The Grid is registered) then it will not work.
When can we expect an update on this?
Many thanks

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for the information. I’ll forward this to our developer so that they could test the compatibility ASAP and put on update server.

Rue NelModeratorHello Guys,
The Grid v1.6.0 is now available in automatic updates! Please try to deactivate TheGrid plugin in order to see the update notifications.
Hope this helps.

martinziajaParticipantHi there,
I just updated the Grid to v1.6.0 but the problem remains the same (“Sorry, an error occurs from Instagram API: The access_token is anvalid.”). In another forum they said that you should follow the message in the admin board to get a new API – but I didn’t get a message…Has anyone solved the “TheGrid-Instagram-Problem”?
June 19, 2016 at 11:38 am #1049364
RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating. Could you try creating new Instagram Access Token and placing again under The Grid > Global Setting > Social API?
Cheers!
June 19, 2016 at 12:45 pm #1049404
martinziajaParticipantI tried that, but couldn’t figure out how to get a new access token…?
June 19, 2016 at 5:46 pm #1049601
martinziajaParticipantOK, got a new access token, but still the same error message…
