lisacole1ParticipantHi
I’ve tried a few times now to get the demo content working with the Spa demo. It is missing a home page and the link just sends you to a 404.Each time I have tried by deleting all the imported posts and pages then installing the demo again, but it’s not doing it.
I have a child theme installed and if I activate that I lose styling of the menu.
any idea what is going on or what is best to do?

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
Thanks for writing in! First of all regenerate your Permalink settings by head over to Settings -> Permalinks within your WordPress backend. Then head over to X Addons section and add the following parameters to the address bar and reload the page.
&clean-cacheOnce you add the above parameters, your URL will look like follows.
http://your.site/wp-admin/admin.php?page=x-addons-home&clean-cacheThen try regenerating your demo content again.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!May 9, 2016 at 10:44 am #982463
lisacole1ParticipantHi, thanks for your really clear instructions but that doesn’t work either.
I deleted the demo content, added a new blank home page and sample post. regenerated the permalinks and cleaned the cache – twice. then I added the demo content but I still don’t get it looking as it should and the home page goes to a page not found.it’s a new site, shall I just reinstall x and start afresh?

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Before switching to a child theme, you were supposed to backup the customizer settings by downloading the XCS file from the customizer manager section. And after activating the child theme, you will need to import again the XCS file to ensure that all the settings were correct and still the same.
https://community.theme.co/kb/customizer-manager/
To save you from trouble, I went ahead and re assign your menus for your primary and footer menu in Appearance > Menus. Your menu should display properly now.
If you need anything else, please let us know.

lisacole1Participantyou star, there was no customisation done at all though, we were just trying to install the demo to work from that.
I really appreciate your help! thank you! -
