Barbara BParticipantHi X,
I noticed that with the recent updates to X my Renew Child theme portfolio is not working correctly. I’ve researched the problem on the forum but did not find anything matching my problem. The Landscape dropdown does not work and also the dropdown menu for + sign in the right top corner does not work.
I’m using the current WordPress and X updates and all plug-ins are updated. I purged all caches. (is there an easy way to do that rather than doing each page?)
I’m still using Visual Composer. I haven’t had time to rebuild the pages with Cornerstone. Can you please take a look at my settings and see if it’s something simple? I will give you my admin and password in a private message.
Thanks so much. I really appreciate the help.

ChristianModeratorHey Barbara,
Please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
Thanks.

Barbara BParticipantHi,
Ok I tried that and still no luck. It is asking me to buy a license for Visual Composer too. I thought Visual Composer was included with X? Perhaps that has changed?
I don’t think I have any 3rd party plugins activated though. Could you possible take a look using the user and PW I provided? I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Are you using CloudFlare or may have installed a caching plugin like WordFence, W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache? Please keep in mind that after doing every updates, always remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Barbara BParticipantHi,
I am using W3 Total Cache and I did clear the cache. I am still having these two problems:
On the main menu at the top, under Gallery, the drop down menu “Landscapes” is the only one that does not work. I tried deleting that menu and creating another but still it will not show. Do you have any ideas what could be causing this?
The other problem is with the + sign in the right corner. It does not seem to be working at all. Can you help?
Thank you very much.

LelyModeratorHi Barbara,
The landscape portfolio is not working or not displaying anything because you didn’t select category for this page on Page Settings > portfolio settings. If there’s no content, the plus sign filter will not really work at all. See attached screenshot.
Hope this helps.

Barbara BParticipantHi Lely,
Thank you, that worked. How weird. I did have that all correct and somehow with the X updates the particular portfolio setting became unchecked.
Can you help me with the + sign in the right corner. It does not seem to be working for 3 of the categories. It does work for “Equine and Animals” though. I’ve looked through all my settings for each page and did some research but still cannot figure out the problem.
Thank you!

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
I’m sorry but I confused. Are you referring to plus sign on top right corner or category filtering?
Both of them are working, see the attachment. Please clear cache and check again.
Thanks.

Barbara BParticipantHi Christopher,
Sorry, I was referring to my category filter. I did just now clear my cache again and I tried it again and only the “Landscapes” dropdown is working. The other 4 dropdowns are not working. I tried it in Chrome and Safari.
If you have any ideas what this could be please let me know. I will continue to check my links and see if I can figure it out.
Thank you!

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Please edit portfolio pages and under ‘Portfolio settings’ box, select ‘all categories’. I fixed one of your pages, see : http://www.barbaraberens.com/gallery/equine-animals/
Thanks.

Barbara BParticipantHi Christopher,
I did “select all Categories” like you suggested. However now the Galleries drop down menus show all categories instead of filtering them. And the categories + sign still isn’t working. This all worked before I updated X.
If you have any other ideas please let me know. If not, can I deactivate the categories + sign for a while until I figure it out?
Thanks!
