isdg01ParticipantHi,
I have been using 2 different accounts while asking questions on this update process, and getting different information/results from both accounts. The other account is under dhassmann, and he is the one that purchased the license.
Based on the response above dated July 27, 2016 at 9:43 pm, they told me to basically start over to get the updates done correctly. To make this happen, I had to create a new development area on the server as I couldn’t get the changes to recognize my database. Now the new development area does not recognize the X Theme license. Obviously I need this to get the automatic updates to run properly.
I cannot revoke the license on the old staging area as it has been removed from the server. Can you please validate this license, 7102b492-1e78-409e-b11e-dd6d227c388e, for my new development area of http://dev.selectbrandsllc.com? The changes have been made in the main account and reflect where I need the production license active.
I appreciate your help. This has been a very frustrating update experience!

JoaoModeratorHi Dawn,
You need to do that your self on your account, or the account of the person who purchased the theme.
Please do the following
2] Please login to your account and revoke the license. https://community.theme.co/my-account/
3] After you have revoke the license, you need to re assign the license again to your site using this url: https://www.your-domain.com/. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
4] Go back to X Addons > Home again, and insert the license again. You can assign both sites for devlopment and the oficial on your page : https://community.theme.co/my-account/
When discussing an issue try to do it from one account to avoid confusion and facilitate our work.
Let us know how it goes,
Joao

isdg01ParticipantOK, Joao, you have responded on both accounts, so I am only talking with you at the moment… I will continue the conversation on this account.
I have done everything that you outline above, multiple times and it is still not working!
1. I have gone into the Themeco account and revoked the license.
2. I have reassigned the license to both the production URL (http://selectbrandsllc.com) and the new development URL (http://dev.selectbrandsllc.com)
3. I have verified that the URL in the General settings in WP match the the Development URL set in the Themeco Account settings (http://dev.selectbrandsllc.com)
4. I have entered the license number in the X Addons>Product Validation area,
5. I still get “This site URL is not a match for your API key.”I have now wasted a full week attempting to make updates that should have been fairly easy. The biggest problem I have had all week is the Product Validation. Please make this license work on my development site!

isdg01ParticipantCan someone please help me get my development site validated so I can update my theme? If I update via FTP my WooCommerce templates appear broken…

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
I am another staff checking on this thread! Since you are using a much older version of X, you need to assign the url of your dev site as the production site to be able to validate X and update to the latest X version which is 4.6.1. After you have updated it, you can revoke and assign both the production and the development site in your Themeco account.
For now the dev site is validate. Please proceed to update your dev site.
If there’s anything else, we can help you with, please let us know.

isdg01ParticipantThank you. The upgrade has run successfully with the URL validated!
Next question is regarding the new Child Theme. I have installed that via FTP as noted in the earlier instructions. I have also added the “/dist/” to the path in the old Child Theme. Can I now keep the old child theme (X-Child Theme:Renew) in place, or do I need to switch to the new version? The instructions were a little unclear of what to do after adding the “/dist/” to the path.
I do appreciate all of your help while going thru this process. It has been more painful that expected.

JoaoModeratorHi Dawn,
I am glad Rue managed to help,
Since you have updated the path of your old Child Theme you can keep using it without problems.
I have checked your website and it is loading fine.
Let us know if you have further questions,
Joao

isdg01ParticipantGreat! Glad that one is resolved.
Do I also need to add this to the functions.php in the old Child Theme?
add_filter( ‘x_enqueue_parent_stylesheet’, ‘__return_true’ );August 1, 2016 at 12:18 pm #1112326
JoaoModeratorHi
You can find all the info here:
https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/child-theme-updates/
If you already made the updates to your child theme, I can tell you made it right, when it is not right, the style is totally broken, your site looks good.
Let us know if you have any questions,
Joao

isdg01ParticipantOK, hopefully this is my last request before finishing up these site updates… I have Woo Commerce installed and I am getting some duplicate fields showing. I will attach a couple of screenshots to show what I am referring to.
I am getting the following error message, due to still having the old child theme installed: Your theme (X – Child Theme: Renew) contains outdated copies of some WooCommerce template files. These files may need updating to ensure they are compatible with the current version of WooCommerce.
How can I correct this so it only shows one instance for each of these fields? I have WooCommerce 2.6.4 installed.
Thanks,

isdg01ParticipantI believe I have resolved this issue! Almost done with the updates 🙂
