ChristianModeratorI’m not sure what you mean by “made by my installation”. Would you mind providing a screen recording of the issue?
Thanks.

Jose De EusebioParticipantHI…
While waiting for your answer I checked on other Forum posts and thought I might be having a problem with my Child Theme if manipulated before installing the Expanded Demo.
1/ Could that be the problem?
2/ If so, Could I just erase it and re-install the Child Theme?
3/ What if those changes/manipullations of the Child Theme had been done in the parent X Theme? Thanks again

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
If you are trying to accomplish anything that requires a template customization, we would always like to suggest that you use a child theme. Because this allows you to make code changes that won’t be overwritten when an X update is released. After your child theme is setup, please review how we recommend making template changes in Customization Best Practices.
Now regarding the demo content, if you already some changes in your site like settings in customizer, colors, logo images, as soon as you import any demo content, all of you changes will be overwritten with the default demo content settings. This is because demo content consists of a working demo site contents. If you are trying to import a demo because you just want to have the front page but still would want to retain your current settings, you will have to manually create the homepage from scratch. You could also ask us which homepage you want so that we can create a Cornerstone template out of it and you can easily import it to your page without even affecting your current settings.
So I am assuming that you just want to import a particular page from a demo content? Please give us some clarifications!
Thank you in advance.

Jose De EusebioParticipantHi there!
Sorry for being so confusing but, truly, the problem I created in my WordPress Theme X web seems to be weird. I suppose because of some unintended manipulation from my part in either my Child Theme or the main Theme X parent one.
Let me start this again and see if I can explain the mess I might have caused.
I had been building the web with Visual Composer in a CHILD THEME. After leaving this for a while, I started again with this web recently. I decided in this second phase to instal an Expanded Demo (Agency). When I did it, even havin added previously to its installation in the URL the &clean-cache command, it went through the process just fine, but didn´t show that way after finished with the download.
Instead, perhaps due to some settings I have introduced either in the Child Theme or in the main Theme X parent, it shows with some characteristics that are not proper to the Agency Demo site. Like some fonts, colors, and so on.
Unfortunately, I haven´t succeeded in giving you access to my back end panel. I checked on the firewall and it is not showing any IP address blocked. So, no idea on how to let you get in. You guys have tried twice, but it seems to be blocked.
Yesterday I suggested you to re-install a Child Theme so I could start from ground and see if this worked, but you tell me that, no matter what I would have done with my Child Theme, it would have been overwritten by the Expanded Demo. But hasn´t.
Now, how could I just star from ground zero? Any hints on where could I have “manipulated” the theme so that it is now avoiding me to install properly the Expanded Demo?
Thanks again, and sorry for the inconvenience…

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for the updates. Regretfully your site is under in construction mode. you may have given an access but there is no way we can access it. We can not access this page: http://josedeeusebio.es/wp-admin/ as well, even the http://josedeeusebio.es/wp-login.php is not accessible. Could you please provide us the correct WordPress admin login url?
Thank you.

RadModeratorHi there,
Hmm, you’re trying to do a clean installation of the demo? The demo import will only overwrite the same copy of contents and settings. But it will not remove other configuration not related to it. Hence, you’re getting the mixed, from the demo and from your existing contents.
If you like to start over again then it’s easier to delete your installation and install WordPress and X theme again, then import the demo. Or you can setup another WordPress on a sub-folder and import the demo there, and if you think it’s done then you can just use All in one migration to export your site and import it to your live site. That will replace your entire site and its existing contents.
If you have existing custom slider templates from older, then any slider will not work as displayed on your screenshot. And with the map, it now requires API key and you will have to create one ( https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key ).
Please make sure that rev. slider plugin is active before doing the import.
Thanks!

Jose De EusebioParticipantHi.
Wow. That´s really a mess for me…
Is there a way I could import the Demo settings? Or may be access to a backend of the Demo and try to re-set one by one all the Expanded Demo settings so I can “erase” those which are settled up in the previous configuration?October 6, 2016 at 5:14 pm #1205836
Jose De EusebioParticipantor could it be solved by erasing the Child Theme and installing a new Child Theme again?
ThanksOctober 6, 2016 at 10:13 pm #1206242
RadModeratorHi there,
It will not, configurations are saved within the database. The best workaround is to create a dummy site when you can import your demo and just manually transfer what you wish to transfer, including customizer settings, pages, menu settings, widgets, and images. Though personally, I’ll start from scratch if I want clean and fully identical to the demo.
Demo will be installed at once and it doesn’t have any parts you could choose which will be imported or copied.
Thanks!
