Hi, I want a menu item to open a form in a lightbox. I see good advice on getting buttons to open a lightbox but nothing about menu items. Please advise how to do it.

I’d also like to know how to click an image and have the lightbox that opens contain custom content, rather than the image itself.

I have all the above working (thanks to y’al’s help) using several external plugins but those are dragging my site speed down and I’m trying to ditch some of them…
    Thank you

    Hi There,

I believe the best option for you would be creating a convertplug modal and lauching it by using class.

You can add class to any menu item.

Please have a look at this video, altough it explains how to launch from a button in cornerstone the principle is the same.

    Let us know your toughts

This is very useful info I think you’ve enabled me to get rid of two plugins that are slowing down my other site where I can now code for user to click an image and get the popup. However regarding using it in the menu we’re not there yet: The popup I created, “contact-leanna” name and class, works fine in a button but not in the Custom Links menu item. I inserted the class in the URL field but it doesnt work.

    Hi There,

URL field is only for URL. Menu item has a class field.

If you do not see any class field, press Screen Option on the upper right of menu page and enable the CSS Classes

    Hope it helps, Cheers!

Hi, on my second site http://www.tellasia.org I’m now trying to replace two plugins running my contact forms with the same funcationality as above (simple class in Custom Link powered by ConvertPlug – see “contact” item in footer menu of http://www.tellasia.org). The popup displays but the shortoce for the contact form does not come through. It says “Contact Form Shortcode Error: Invalid form number in shortcode” The shortcode is working in other contexts, and I tried two different versions of the shortcode (Fast Secure Contact Form shortcodes [si-contact-form form=’1′] and [si-contact-form form=’4′].

Thinking it could be a plugin conflict I also tried disabling the two plugins that run the current contact lightboxes (Lightbox Plus Colorbox Plugin, and Form Lightbox). No change, still getting error.

I was going to ask this question of ConvertPlug but it doesn’t seem that the ability to log in and post questions comes with the addon license…

    Hi Leanna,

Should be like this, [si-contact-form form="4"]

I went ahead and changed it.

    Thanks!

oops… Convert Plug just caused both my sites to totally go offline! A colleague notified me and I was shocked to find them both entirely down. I called my host and they immediately identified ConvertPlug as the culprit! However I just went to a pile of work to switch both sites over from my previous plugins to ConvertPlug. i rushed and put my original code and plugins back up so my main forms work. To experiment with convertplug, work with the “Contact” element in the footer which remains assoiated with ConvertPlug.

I tried to reactivate ConvertPlug on http://www.tellasia.org but it won’t reactivate, gives this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /home1/tellasia/public_html/wp-content/plugins/convertplug/framework/Smile_Framework.php on line 78

I cannot get FFox or IE to update the page despite dumping all history/cache, restarting, refreshing a million times etc. Very odd.

NOTE that all my PHP, Worpdress, database etc is up to date so that is not the problem with ConvertPlug.

Once we get ConvertPlug activated, most importantly I need to know why it caused my site to crash so that NEVER should happen again… I went with ConvertPlug because it was recommended as an addon to X so I thought that means it should work well with X…
