Same issue is happening with the 6.0.6 update. The updater says package not found.
Anyone else run into this problem?
Hi there,
You can only install updates for the bundled plugins if we released them. The 6.0.6 update you’re seeing is directly from plugin’s author and you can only install their update if you bought a license directly from them. You may check the versions provided for bundled plugins https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/

I too am having a problem updating LayerSlider on all four sites where I have X installed (three online, one local). First the message about the update for version 6.1.0 appears but once I try to update it, I get the same error message “Update Failed: Update package not available.” Any tips on how to solve it?Cheers,

Thanks for writing in! Please revoke and re-validate your site with the steps below.
1] Please go to X Addons > Home and revoke the validation (https://s3.amazonaws.com/community-themeco/app/uploads/2016/04/17110514/Capture53.jpg).
2] Please login to your account and revoke the license.
3] After you have revoke the license, you need to re assign the license again to your site using. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
4] Go back to X Addons > Home again, and insert the purchased code again.Let us know how it goes.

Tried that on one of the sites but when trying to update LayerSlider got the same message again about the package not being available. (I enclosed the wrong image but cannot find the option to delete it when hitting “Edit” the post. Please disregard it.)

Hi there,
Current version of x is compatible with Layer slider v6.0.5. Integrated plugins in X are not always latest version released by authors for the following reasons :
- Stability – Newer versions of software do not always equal greater stability. Oftentimes there are undiscovered bugs that are introduced with certain versions and are unknown until the product has been released to the public for some time. The version of the plugin that we bundle with the theme is more or less guaranteed to work without any issues as we take a great deal of time to test all functionality thoroughly before releasing it along with the theme.
- Release Cycles – While we try to include the latest version of LayerSlider with each release, occasionally the release cycle of the plugin will prevent this from being possible. Essentially, since we have no idea when LayerSlider will be releasing new versions of the plugin, we cannot plan our releases around this. Because of this, if we have already begun the process of finalizing our release and submitting it to ThemeForest for review while LayerSlider is putting out a new version of the plugin, that version of the plugin will not be able to make it into the theme until the next release at the earliest.
- Not Always Necessary – Some of LayerSlider’s releases have only included simple “bug fixes” without any huge additions or modifications to the rest of the plugin. Because of situations like this, it is up to our discretion whether or not a new release will make it into the theme or not based on the nature of the update.
