lexidevParticipantHaving problems with updating the LayerSlider in X. One site has been in production for well over a year and shows an error that doesn’t make any sense. See screen print 1. It asks to log into elegant themes and validate the plugin before it can be updated. While I am a member of elegant themes, could the fact that I installed the ‘Bloom’ plugin by elegant themes be a factor for this cryptic message?
The second site has a different error message. I’ve actually removed the plugin and then downloaded it again via X-theme and installed, but get the same error after doing that.
Also noticed that LayerSlider has WP added to the name now. Do need to know what’s up with this plugin, please.

afleischerParticipantI’m having the same issue – X Theme is updating the LayerSlider plugin to 6.0.0. Once this happens, a new update shows up as available to 6.0.3, which is i’m assuming isn’t the most recent version used by the X theme. I’ve now got 5 different sites showing “update available” on the WordPress dashboard, but am unable to either update LayerSlider or cancel the newest update to remove the notification. Credentials to one of the websites below:

carloscaParticipantI’m also having the same problem. An error says Layerslider wp cannot upgrade because the upgrade package is not available…

RadModeratorHi Carlosca,
Would you mind providing your login credentials in private reply? From the provided screenshots above, it looks like it’s trying to pull updates from the plugin’s author. Please note that we do provide updates on bundled plugins, but plugin author can provide updates too as long as you bought license from them.
Thanks!

RadModeratorHi Lexidev,
According to update section ( Admin > Dashboard > Updates ) :
LayerSlider WP
You have version 6.0.0 installed. Update to 6.0.3. View version 6.0.3 details.
Compatibility with WordPress 4.6.1: 100% (according to its author)
Our next major release – Read the announcement in the LayerSlider News sectionYour LayerSlider version is 6.0.0 which is correct since it’s the integrated version on X theme (more information here https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/ )
Since this is bundled plugin, we’re the one that will provide the updates, and the latest version is 6.0.0. The version 6.0.3 that you’re trying to install is directly from LayerSlider’s author. If you wish to bypass the version that we provide and update it to 6.0.3 then you’ll have to buy a license from them.
Thanks!

lexidevParticipantI understand all that, have read it before. But why does it prompt so insistently to update. As far as I know, this did not happen before. Didn’t you have a method to stop the plugin update nags via X-theme until X-theme was ready? Is there a way to know which is which?

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Some plugins developers choose to push this messages.
Always check our changelog before trying to update.
Hope that helps

afleischerParticipantLooks like this issue has been fixed – a new LayerSlider (version 6.0.5) updates fine from the dashboard within X. I don’t know if this was Themeco’s doing or LayerSlider’s, just thought i’d mention it!
