GreaterGoodSolutionsParticipantHello, I have a website (www.steresgaffenmedia.com) that I would like to move to the X Theme. It is currently using Visual Composer and I would like for it to stay that way so I need to know the best way to accomplish moving it to X while not having to redo the VC content.
My current theme is no longer being supported and conflicts with VC, which is why I am moving it to X. I have both a stand alone VC license and the VC install that came as part of the theme package.
Thank you and I look forward to your reply.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
Please backup your website for security measures.
Install X , Remove your versions of Visual Composer and install the version of VC that is bundled with X.
You will find VC at Wp-Admin / Addons / Home
That should work fine and you will keep your pages running with VC without a problem.
Hope that helps,
Joao

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating. You have shared your credentials in public reply. I have set this private but I’d recommend you to change your credentials ASAP. When you need to share any confidential information, make sure to set as “private reply”.
However it seems the version of Visual Composer you used is not compatible with X or maybe it was modified version with previous theme. Do you know which version of Visual Composer you were using?
Thanks

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating. If you take off the X Integration (http://prntscr.com/b9ve81) then Visual Composer will work as natively. So your existing content should display fine as before if that was not corrupted somehow. As it was not built with X so unfortunately we can’t assist much on this if that still doesn’t display correctly.
We’ll be happy to assist you if you face any issue with X and it’s addons but we can’t take care of your old content which is not working as expected.
Thanks for understanding.

RupokMemberHi there,
Sorry to hear that. As I said earlier it should work fine since Visual Composer has seamless integration with X. I am not really sure why it’s not displaying as I can’t find any issue/error. Would you kindly remove X and Cornerstone completely? Then install a fresh copy of X (Cornerstone will be installed automatically).
If you still see the same, as you have standalone license, would you kindly reach to the WPBakery support if they can find any issue from their end? We’ll keep debugging from our end (keep the credentials same) and it would be helpful if the plugin support could find anything.
Thanks for your patience.

RadModeratorHi there,
Is it okay to delete greatergoodsolutions and silicon themes? The issue on #1015344 is because Visual Composer isn’t installed.
When I tried to install it, instead of pulling the installation from X theme, it switches to Silicon. But when I activate X theme again, it deletes Visual Composer.
What do you prefer to use, X theme or Silicon?
Thanks!

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating. I have tried to activate the default themes (twenty fourteen, twenty fifteen) and I can see the same issue for your pages. It’s not working completely for all pages rather partially. I can the content is fully compatible with the “Silicon” theme only. So I really think the shortcode was compatible with the theme somehow, by modifying the functionality I guess. Did you hear anything from WPBakery yet? I think they will be able to investigate this better since they will understand the shortcodes displaying on the site. Let us know if you hear something from them.
Cheers!
