I think you guys should definitely create a work around for that sidebar that overlaps the header in Icon. And by the way in my opinion, with all due respect, that overlap is not a good design. It looks like a mistake and disrupts the balance of the page.

With that said… is there any way to get around that overlap? I’ve added blank text boxes to the widget to push the contents down the sidebar but the overlap is still there just blank area now.

Thank you for providing the information. Please keep in mind that the Icon stack has fixed sidebar. This stack as a unique design that is fixed in nature. Modifying the fixed sidebar structure would mean reconstructing the whole Icon stack. Regretfully we cannot support any modifications to the stack structure other than minor cosmetic changes due to the fact that X is a highly dynamic theme with many elements being constructed on the fly based on options in the Customizer. Among these, the stack layout is one of the more complex elements of the theme and structural modifications to it will likely lead to numerous layout problems as there are a lot of things to take into consideration because of X’s responsive nature. Taking all of this into consideration, these types of updates are out of the scope of our support as their involvement is simply too great and we are a very small team. While we would love to be able to assist all of our users with every customization request, the simple reality is that we cannot cater to every inquiry. Additionally, we will not be able to support any issues that might arise from modifications made to this area on your own.

I would that suggest that you select other stacks (Integrity or Renew or Ethos) since it will have the same base sidebar structure with your example url that you like to have. From that stack, you can start styling other stuff. You should have selected the base layout first and then the styling. What have you done was the other way. You were styling stuff then after that you want to modify the layout structure which is not viable of this Icon stack.

Thanks for updating this thread! At this time we kindly ask that you open up your issue in a separate thread. The longer threads get in the forum, they become more difficult to support as they tend to drift off topic and they also make it troublesome for users trying to search for solutions. Thank you for your response Rue Nel. I truly appreciate the time taken again to help me out over an issue that is (so clearly) outside the scope of normal support. No arguments there. 🙂

Here is my issue…

1 – The ENTIRE site is pretty much constructed. If I have to switch stacks now, I will have to remake an ENTIRE WEBSITE. That is something that I can’t actually do (unfortunately we simply don’t have enough time to make that happen, as we are launching in a couple of weeks).

2 – I take full responsibility for selecting the “wrong” stack (or at least the stack that doesn’t really function the way that I would like). FULL RESPONSIBILITY. That unwise decision is 100% on me. BUT… here’s the thing,… life in business isn’t always perfect and now I need to solve a problem, and redoing an entire website for a blog page simply isn’t tenable…. soooooo….

3 – I reached out on this support thread earlier to ask for support, and was referred to go get a third party developer, which I realized that this was MY responsibility, and I did. BUT,… apparently… I chose the wrong developer,…. soooo (if you read my thread carefully), I’m not necessarily asking for FREE help, but would really, really appreciate if X THEME could definitively refer me to a developer that they know CAN make this change, and it will be sustainable and 100% unaffected by updates (I am using a child theme, like I stated).

So yes, I do understand that this is not really support’s role here, and BTW support has been great on this forum! I love you guys! You’re the best! I’m just in a jam and need a referral to someone that can help me change this stack to do what is needed here.

I (again) throw myself on the mercy of the community, and throw out a plea for help.

I’ve got $130 for anyone who can do this.

Okay, I’ve spilled my guts enough here… I’ll just hit the SUBMIT button now and pray for merciful rain I guess. :/

Thanks for the updates! I would refer you to join the X Theme Users in Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/xthemeusers/). I am sure there are more other people who would love to help you which you can message right away. Post your issue there so that one can easily help you. I know there are a lot of developers in the community and I’ve seen users helping each other.
