    Hi.
I updated X Theme today 6 Nov 2016 (After updating WP) so as to enable ‘Add Ons’ and automated update in WP Dashboard. Previous version was installed July 2014 (ish).
I then tried to validate licence and assign to (clients) site as never had done this before.
X Theme Couldn’t validate the licence/purchase. Image attached.
(Not sure the exact chain of events here but the upshot is….) I went to confirm the url in a browser and i received a error message:

“Fatal error: Cannot redeclare x_shortcode_dropcap() (previously declared in /data01/c2284788/public_html/v2/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/shortcodes/dropcap.php:6) in /data01/c2284788/public_html/v2/wp-content/plugins/x-shortcodes/functions/shortcodes.php on line 92”

I reinstalled earlier version of X from backup. Same result.
I have however since assigned the license to the clients site that the theme was purchased for back in 2014

But I still have no access to WP and the site is down. can you help please?

    Thanks

    Hello There,

Please deactivate and delete X-shortcode plugin. It’s functions is now integrated into Cornerstone. Cornerstone is now a required plugin when using X and it will be automatically installed. To fixed this, please login via FTP. Go to this folder wp-content/plugins. Remove X shortcode folder.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi.
I had dug a bit deeper in the support forum and found the issue- a conflict with Cornerstone plug-ins.
I therefore disabled these (plugins: plugins/x-code) which thankfully re-activates the site.
Still major issues with cornerstone-will report back with progress report/questions soon.
    Thanks

    Hello again.
    The issues continue.
I updated to v4.6.4 as mentioned but this destroys everything; columns, menu stylings etc etc.
I try to re-construct the broken pages from fresh in Cornerstone but it doesn’t recognise my column selects-(image attached) …and everything is very sluggish.

To enable some of sort of site to remain live for client; I have reverted back to the legacy version of X i was using β€”v2.0.1. On mobile its passable. Desktop not so much, but it’s the lesser of two evils so i’m leaving it for now.

Back in the legacy version, it impossible to edit pages in VC as it needs X-shortcode plugin to be active, which when activated causes fatal error when accessing WP Dashboard.

I’m currently stuck between two scenarios and am unable to advance. Would appreciate your feedback.
    Thanks

    Hello again.
My ISP says it won’t be updating to php5.6 until the first quarter of 2017.
Therefore, I have a question for you.
Is it worthwhile me rolling back to the previously installed version of WP? I updated to 4.6.1 (from 4.5.2 i think) skipping the interim versions. There were no problems with this build. But it was based on Theme X v2.0.1!
Also, i noticed you asked for – WordPress Admin username / password in a previous message but i mistakenly supplied you FTP details instead.
If i supply these would that help to see if it was a php version issue or something else entirely that could be fixed ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Stewart,

We don’t recommend rolling back to previous versions as it will most likely do more harm than good.

Kindly backup your site and provide us your wordpress admin login in private reply.

We would also like to ask permission to try the theme update.

    Thanks
