lovecomsParticipantHi, i’ve just started a new X build and went to use essential grid, but no skins – have just read through a thread where it has happened to another user and wondered if this problem had a more up to date fix that you could step me through
My site is on a temp url – details to follow
thanks for your help at the earliest timeAugust 14, 2016 at 3:15 am #1130566

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating. Did you import the SQL file as mentioned on the other thread?
Can you update your Theme first? Let us know if the issue still persist.
Cheers!

lovecomsParticipantHi, I’m reopening the chat thread as Essential Grid seems to have some profound problems. I’ve jsut built a great site, really built almost entirely with essential grids so had no hesitation in trying to use them on this new install –
first was the issue with no skins showing
then when i was building the grid, after the skins issue was resolved, essential grid kept crashing
now i’ve finally built a grid and when i use it in cornerstone, i can’t see it in cornerstone building process, but it is appearing on the page (numerous times as i’ve dragged the shortcode in a few times because i thought it wasn’t working)
It seems essential grid is buggy
I’ve upgraded to latest theme version and wp version
I don’t have any 3rd party plugins installed, except what has come bundled with X
thanks for helpAugust 15, 2016 at 12:41 am #1131419
Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for the updates! I’d recommend that you clear your caching plugin, Supercacher , and disable it during development. This can cause Customizer changes to not take place on the front end. It will eventually show up when the cache regenerates, but it’s not ideal if you’re looking to see your changes immediately. Caching plugins are best to turn on only when you’ve finished building the site.
Hope this helps.

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for the updates! I did some further investigation. I noticed that you are using PHP version 5.4.45 and WordPress 4.5 requires at least 5.6 (https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/). This could possibly be the cause of the issue. In most cases you cannot update your PHP version yourself and need to contact your host about this. The upgrade process is an easy process and should be something your host can do for you without affecting your website or charging you for it. Here’s a letter you can send to your hosting company:
Dear host, I\'m interested in running the open-source WordPress <https://wordpress.org/> web software and I was wondering if my account supported the following: - PHP 5.6 or greater - MySQL 5.6 or greater - The mod_rewrite Apache module Looking forward to your reply.Hope this helps. Kindly let us know.
