mairhoeferParticipantHi,
I’m encountering the same error that others have encountered before. While attempting to import the Agency theme the following error comes up: “We’re sorry, the demo failed to finish importing.”
At first it came up after “Lets go get started”, after which I followed the instructions to delete the cache (add &clean-cache / &x-clean-demo-content-cache). Following that I now receive the same error a little later during the “Downloading images” step.
I have also already increased the memory limit (as suggested elsewhere in the forum through “define( ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’ ); define( ‘WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘512M’ );”).
I’m not sure what else I could do to fix this issue?
Thanks for your help!

mairhoeferParticipantIn the meantime, my hosting service has also suggested to add a file called “.user.ini” with the content “memory_limit = 128M” via FTP, however, it hasn’t resolved the issue.

RadModeratorHi there,
I checked, it’s due to “Invalid demo name” error even though the demo name is valid. This is very common in Godaddy and another hosting that has external storage for transients. I’ll forward this for further investigation.
Thanks!

RadModeratorHi there,
If my guess is true, because of cache/transients. Then they’re finding is true, there is no connection since the data being process is from the cache. And we have to clear the transients. I checked it again and the invalid demo name error appears instantly, it should at least wait for few seconds for connection and processing request.
Is there a way we could clear transients from your Godaddy hosting?
Thanks!

RadModeratorHi there,
But I couldn’t check it to gather information, example, I need to see the stored transient for the demo to see why it’s saying “Invalid demo name” when it’s not. And I’m not sure if by clearing the cache also clears the transient. Transient is a cache too but for data, and it’s different from the page/site cache. Based on my experience, we’ll not able to solve this since Godaddy is strict about it.
I suggest that you install WordPress on your local machine with help of MAMP/WAMP as your local server. Then install X theme, validate it, then import the demo. Then install All in one migration plugin to export your local site, and import it to your Godaddy site.
Thanks.

RadModeratorHi there,
You can try it on another hosting as staging and testing, then move it to Godaddy once done.
Thanks!
