I have confirmed with my website host that all of those settings are correct, and that community.theme.co is whitelisted.Can you import via FTP?

No it can’t, please confirm the FTP credentials you provided if that is correct. I am seeing a lot of plugins folder on that server while only few on the admin dashboard.
Here’s the screenshot of the error: http://image.prntscr.com/image/512a092df67f47e486f00bc11e257311.png it is a server-side configuration which we do not have control over with, please contact your hosting support to enable cURL support for PHP and increase the cURL timeout.

onemanparsonsParticipantThanks for your help. The frustrating thing is that it is the same website host, the same settings as the previous installation.
May I suggest that you publish all of the requirements to be able to import demo content? It might be that there’s some misunderstanding, and I’m sure this information will be helpful to other people as well.
