A few versions ago I installed Cornerstone as a separate plugin.

I’m now wondering if I need to still have this installed separately and what would happen if I uninstall it.

    Can you offer any thoughts?

    Bob

Please connect to FTP and remove cornerstone folder from wp-content/plugins. Next visit X addons page to install latest version of cornerstone. If you need further assist, please provide us with URL and login credentials in private replay.

    Hi there,

Cornerstone is a mandatory plugin for X theme, which also includes our shortcode functionality. So it should be installed and activated on your site to function your X theme properly.

With regard to your Cornerstone update issue, please connect through your FTP and delete your Cornerstone plugin which is located under “/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone”.

Then once you head over to your X Addons section within your WordPress backend, the latest version of the Cornerstone should be automatically installed.

    Hope that helps.

    Here’s what I’ve just done:

    1. I downloaded the master theme zip from Themeforest and unzipped it.
    2. I then located the Cornerstone zip file in /framework/plugins/
    3. I extracted the Cornerstone file to my desktop.
    4. I uploaded the unzipped Cornerstone file to my theme via ftp.
    5. Activated the plugin. The activated version showed that an update was required.
    6. I clicked on the “update now” link.
    7. This resulted in an “HTTP 500” error.

The site is running but I’m not able to update Cornerstone.

I’m really surprised that I need to update this newly installed version of Cornerstone.

If I’ve downloaded the latest version of the theme from Themeforest, shouldn’t it contain the latest version of Cornerstone?

So as it stands right now …. I’ve installed a fresh version of Cornerstone that I still can’t update.

    What are your thoughts?

    Further to my last reply….

I just looked at the Cornerstone files that were in the theme zip that I downloaded and Cornerstone is version 1.3.0

    This is the latest version.

So now I’m really confused why I’m getting this plugin needs to be updated message when I installed it.

    Hi There,

The latest version of Cornerstone is 1.3.1 (https://theme.co/changelog/), just released on august 23. Obviously, the update notice can easily be solve by updating the Cornerstone. However, you seems to have an issue with your site setup itself.

Please try to deactivate all your plugins before updating the Cornerstone.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks.

    Hello

I deactivated all the plugins except Cornerstone and still couldn’t update it.

Then I tried deactivating it as well so all plugins were deactivated and still couldn’t update Cornerstone.

Now I’m concerned there’s something really wrong with my installation.

I’ve had no problems until now.

    Hello There,

Thank you for the updates! I would highly recommend that you re install WordPress. There maybe files that are corrupted and this is why it is causing a JS error on the WP panel. If nothing else works, would you mind providing us the ftp login credentials so we can take a closer look and fix this issue?

To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
    – FTP Hostname
    – FTP Username
    – FTP Password

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Thank you.

Before going any further is it important to know why Cornerstone isn’t showing on the list of extensions in my Add On section?

    Hi Bob,

The problem is that javascript libraries aren’t loading completely.

    http://toysformykitchen.com/wp-admin/load-scripts.php?c=1&load%5B%5D=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,underscore,wp-util,wp-a11y,updates&ver=4.6

As you’ll notice on that URL, it ended at this line

    c.find("#request-filesystem-credentials-title

It’s incomplete, or could be corrupted. Other libraries such as jQuery aren’t loaded either. I checked your site’s error log and there much fatal error. The problem is within your WordPress core, would you mind re-installing your WordPress core files? And I also noticed that your physical memory is 1gb and it’s almost used up. Hence other scripts may not run properly if there is no available memory or processing power.

    Thanks!
