gxxrParticipantHi,
I’m trying to use the bundled convertplug plugin with ActiveCampaign. When I was still using mailchimp, all was fine, because mailchimp enforces double-opt-in.
However, ActiveCampaign does not. It is a configurable setting of signup forms. If it is switched on for a certain form, then a plugin needs to feed the form ID to the API so that the right setting is triggered.
There is no such setting in ConvertPlug, so it’s always adding users without opting them in, and that’s illegal for many people. Any options?April 12, 2016 at 5:29 am #878023
JackKeymasterHi there @gxxr,
Thanks for writing in!
I’ve checked this and it appears that ConvertPlug added the option for double opt-in for other mail systems apart from Mailchimp in version 2.2.0, but this is a version up from what’s currently bundled in X.
Here’s the document on ConvertPlug’s site https://docs.brainstormforce.com/how-to-disable-double-opt-in-for-mailer/
If you could send us a email via our contact form here: http://theme.co/x/contact/ and mark it for Attention: Jack
I’d be happy to send you the latest version to try. 🙂
Thank you!

gxxrParticipantHi,
thanks for the email. However, this doesn’t solve my problem after all. The option that’s there only disables double opt-in for those providers who have it as a default (e.g. mailchimp).
As outlined above, for ActiveCampaign, the plugin must send a “form id” to activecampaign so that the double opt-in is triggered. There is no parameter for that in the settings that I could find.
Since I can’t get direct support from convertplug directly – could you find out if they’re going to add this (and if so, when)?
Thanks

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating. It’s a plugin functionality that seems not exists on ConvertPlug. We package the unmodified version of the plugin so we can’t control any feature or functionality. We can forward them this query but can’t give you any assurance or ETA for this. If that immensely important for you then you could consider buying a license for that and reach to them directly to get better response for this.
If you have any question regarding X or our addons, let us know. We’ll be very happy to assist you.
Cheers!

gxxrParticipantSorry, I’m not going to get a separate license for a product that
-) does not do what I need
-) I already paid for as part of X.Does that mean you do not provide support for the plugins you package?
The question is valid – ConvertPlug is advertised as integrating with ActiveCampaign, but it’s not doing that.

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for posting in.
We’re not the developer of bundled plugins, we can only provide bugs to the developer of that said plugin. But we’re not able to fix it. If it’s easy or can be done through a temporary fix or tweaking, then no reason to not provide it.
We’ll forward this issue.
Thanks for understanding.

gxxrParticipantI understand that you’re not the developers of the plugin. However, you DO advertise your theme as coming with said bundled plugins, and since I’m therefore YOUR customer, I expect you will handle the communication with the developers of the plugins.
The bundled plugins are a buying decision factor (which I’m sure you’re aware of), so just shrugging and saying it’s none of your business and I can go buy a license for convertplug so that I can talk to their developers directly is a little bizarre.I would like you to ask them IF and WHEN they’re going to add this feature, as it is otherwise not really true that they integrate with ActiveCampaign for people who want to comply to the law in many countries and use double opt-in.

JackKeymasterHi there @gxxr,
Thanks for writing back! I’ve sent a message to the lead developer of ConvertPlug and will let you know once I’ve heard back. 🙂
Thanks!

JackKeymasterHi again @gxxr,
I’ve heard back from the Lead Developer of ConvertPlug and they do have plans to add double opt-in in the near future for Active Campaign and other integrations, though there is no ETA currently.
Thank you!
