LelyModeratorHello There,
Thank you for the credentials.
You homepage:http://www.thepohlposition.com/ is set to show you blog posts. Since you don’t add any post yet on Admin > Posts it is showing Nothing to show right now.
Then for regular page like this one:http://www.thepohlposition.com/home/, under Page Attributes we need to select Layout – Content Left , Sidebar Right. See attached screenshot. Then for the content of the sidebar, go to Appearance > Widgets > Main Sidebar. By default, it’s content is recent post widget. But since you don’t have a post yet, it is currently blank. Just to show a content on the sidebar, I have added a Text widget in there with this content
Sidebar Goes here
. It is working now here:http://www.thepohlposition.com/home/. To set this page as default homepage, go to Settings > Reading > Front page displays: Select static page
Hope this helps.

yozParticipantHi
Thankyou for your help, though i need to get rid of 2 of these as there is 3 homepage names, and i already have a blog page as seperately named. One of these pages showing should have been trashed as it sais to. http://www.thepohlposition.com/demo-home__trashed/.
The only one i want is with the sidebar. How can i do this with not seeing them in my pages menu to be able to do so?May 20, 2016 at 7:46 am #1001420
JoaoModeratorHi There,
To remove the pages and order them on your navbar menu you need to go to your WP-Admin / Appearance / Menus
Once you are there you have to Select to Edit X Demo Menu, as this is the menu you are using (Please see image attached)
Also at the bottom you can disable automatic add pages to menu, this might be useful for you.
You have more than one menu right now, and if you would like to have more menus, like one for the footer (with less links for example) and other complete for the top bar, you can use Manage locations. (also highlighted on the image)
Hope that helps,
Joao

yozParticipantHi
Great they are gone now, thankyou and i only have the one homepage in my menu. As i only have the one now, i am supposed to see the page in which i am editing yes? Is there a reason as to why i don’t see that one with the sidebar here now that i only have one?

yozParticipantHi,
Don’t worry about that i’ll work it out. I did try adjusting my sidebar as you mentioned with content width by bringing it down, though that didn’t end up changing anything

yozParticipanthttp://www.jeffbullas.com is quite close to what i am looking to do, but also cutting back on the right hand padding that is there to, so it’s about pulling back the space more still
