Switch back to X from Pro

Hi

As I have written, there are some issues with pro not being translatable since 2017.

Is there a way to switch back to the X theme from Pro? How about the headers/footers?

Best
Frank

Hi Frank,

Thank you for writing in, yes you can switch back to X from PRO. But two issues with that, a) you’ll lose your custom headers and footers that are built in PRO header/footer builder. b) Your licenses are associated with PRO, so you can not validate X with those licenses.

Would you mind giving more information about the PRO not being translatable since 2017?, that could have been resolved a long time ago.

Cheers!

Hi Friech

since 2017: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/wpml-issues-with-pro/3364

And as of my latest posts, I am not really satisfied, that Pro is not 100% translatable (header, footer) and need to rely on older wpml versions. You keep posting since that it is in your “backlog” to fix. And nothing happens.

Hey Frank,

Pro Header and Footer builders can be translated by WPML. It is unfortunate though that the latest version of WPML String Translation conflicts with the builder that is why the current solution is to downgrade because there’s no fix for this yet.

We understand that this is frustrating but regretfully, this might be a bit complex. We really want to solve all issues in a snap but realistically, that is not technically possible. But, rest assured that our development team is hard at work resolving issues and creating awesome features.

Thank you for understanding.

UPDATE: I’m sorry I missed that this was fixed in Pro 2.5.0. See https://theme.co/changelog/#theme-pro-2-5-0-theme-x-6-5-0-cornerstone-3-5-0

BUGFIX: Add filter to prevent preview from crashing when WPML string translation is active.

If you’re still having issues with the latest Pro version and WPML, please give us WordPress Admin and FTP access in a Secure Note

Thanks.

Hi Christian,

I have this Problem as described here: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/wpml-issue/48740
The solution provided doesnt work for me.

I asked WPML and they strongly dont support the suggested downgrading.

Done

Hi @FrankG1001,

Upon checking your language settings, I could see that the German language is hidden:

https://www.hequett.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=sitepress-multilingual-cms%2Fmenu%2Flanguages.php

I’ve unchecked this and also created a test page: https://www.hequett.com/pro/#/content/4470/layout?lang=en

You can now translate to German right now.

Cheers!
