Are we able to make use of any 3rd party plugins that may provide such functionality or perhaps simplicity that’s not in the Pro application?

Hello James,

Pro theme should work in any 3rd party plugin. You can use WooCommerce or any other 3rd party ecommerce plugin. As long as the plugin follows the standards of WordPress, it should work with the theme as well.

Hope this helps.

Ok that’s encouraging. What I don’t understand is how to actually integrate them with the Pro builder. I’ve learned that 3P widgets won’t show up in the widgetized area of the header. It’s even more confusing as to creating a widget area in the pages. How is anything placed in those? Is this where short code goes? Can only see the result previewing the website as an user?

Hey James,

We have WooCommerce integrations in our themes and builders. Once you have installed WooCommerce, go to Theme Options > WooCommerce to configure WooCommerce specific settings powered by Pro.

Our builders also have WooCommerce elements like the Cart elements. Documentation about them is still in progress but they’re pretty straight forward to setup.

For more details about working with WooCommerce, please see https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/setup-working-with-woocommerce/58

Regarding widgets or if you want to show a widget area in the builder, you can use the Widget Area element. For more details, please see https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/elements-widget-area/10243/1

If you could detail what specifically are you looking for, we can give you a more detailed answer.

Hope that helps.

“Continuing the discussion from Elements - Widget Area:
All widgets that are registered on your WordPress install are available for selection within the Widget Area element. This includes Widgets registered by Third Party plugins.”

I’ve placed a widget area element in a page. When I’ve activated it for editing in the inspector I’m expecting to find a means of placing a widget. However all I find is means to select a widget area (which I thought i’d already done by placing it in the page) and then sundry decorations like border padding and so on.

Where’s the means to do this in the page builder?

And let me add a bit more disdain for this buidler experience I’m having.

I paid twice as much as I’ve for any other builder - and they all had trial periods. I took the risk because I’m desperate to finally finish the one site I need. I’m still not even close. I’ve been at it today since 7am. Every day is like this day trying to use your product.

Hello James,

1.) Please be informed that the WordPress widgets can be added in the widget areas by going to Appearance > Widgets. This is where you can find all the available WordPress widgets and all the 3rd party plugin widgets. You can add them to the designated areas like the amain sidebar, header widget and footer widget areas.

2.) You can also create a custom widget area by going to Appearance > Sidebars. You can create a custom sidebar area and then assign it to a page. The sidebar will then only display to the assigned page. After creating the custom sidebar area, you can head back to Appearance > Widget and add widgets for that area. To know more about unlimited sidebars area, please check this out:

3.) Now, if you are editing a page and have inserted the Widget Element into one of the section, you must have done all of the above first so that in the Widget Element settings, you can assign which widget area is going to be displayed in the widget element.

Hope this helps.

It’s still not clear how to use a widget on a content page. It seems they can only be used in header footer and sidebar none of which is useful at this point. When I creat a widget area on a page I don’t find it in the appearance/widgets area afterwards.

Hello James,

When you insert a widget element into a page content, you will have to define which of the widget area (header, main sidebar or footer widget area) will be displayed.

Widget Area:

  • This is a content area usually the sidebar which will enable you to insert WordPress widgets.

Widget Areas:

  • This is the header 1, …, header 4, main sidebar, footer 1,…, footer 4 widget areas in the theme. You can go to Appearance > Widgets and then add a widget in each of the respective widget areas.

Widget Area Element:

  • This is a Cornerstone or Pro Editor element that will help you display one of the widget areas into the page that you are currently editing.

Hope this make sense.
