Hi I have been testing multiple times and the video is not showing - also this is affecting another two sites. Can you please have a look as I am using your built in Video link and it works on Android but not in iOS and I can’t figure out why. Also, I see in past help sessions it was conflicting plugins. As I use a lot of plugins it would be good to know which ones are an issue so all of my videos don’t suddenly implode. I will attach secure login note, please see page (now as a draft) Scuba Diving Courses
Hey @businessbackpacker,
The page you posted doesn’t exist.
Please post the correct URL where the video issue persists.
We also need permission to deactivate all plugins except Cornerstone. We need to do this in order to narrow down the issue to only our products and also, we do not have a list of incompatible plugins. It is also the site owners responsibility to test for a plugin conflict. If this is not possible to be done in your live site, copy your live site to a staging server and give us Staging WordPress Admin access.
If you choose for us to continue investigating your live site, please just note that we are not responsible for any loss of data on your site because we won’t do a full website support. Our focus or area of concern is the theme only and why it’s causing an issue if it’s proven to be the cause.
Also, ensure that everything is up to date according to our version compatibility list at https://theme.co/docs/version-compatibility. Please follow the best practices when updating your theme and plugins. See https://theme.co/docs/how-to-update for more details.
Thanks.
As I mentioned the page is in DRAFT status which is why I gave the login details and secure note. Please login and view
Or perhaps you can just share the best practices for adding YouTube videos so that they show across all devices. Now I’ve been using Cornerstone and Video element but if that has issues globally maybe there is either some css to add or a certain way you would recommend using the embed code so that it actually works. Thanks! I need this done and don’t have time to set up a separate site. It is not working on four sites. So it is not just unique to this one.
Hey @businessbackpacker,
I’m actually logged in previously. You can see the admin bar in my screenshot. What I did miss is the page is in mode. I got confused because the URL you provided is the live URL and not the preview. Please provide the preview URL next time so after we login, we can immediately open the draft page rather than going to pages and searching for the page. This will save us time which is good for you and the rest of the users.
Now regarding the issue, it’s because you inserted the Youtube URL in the Player Video Type of the Video Element. iOS doesn’t allow this mistake. The Player Video Type is only for self-hosted videos or direct to video URL like https://example.com/video.mp4

For Youtube and other video hosting sites, you should use the Embed Video Type and insert the embed code from the video hosting site. In case you’re not aware where to get the embed code, please refer to Youtube’s documentation or contact Youtube support.

I just tested that on a real iPhone device and it works.
Hope that helps.
