YouTube Video on Modal

I have updated to the latest Pro theme 4.3.3 and noticed the Content Modal no longer exists. How do you stop YouTube from playing after the Modal is closed?

Hi @sgchan,

Thanks for reaching out.
It seems you are using the Modal element which does not have the Dynamic Rendering option like the Content Area Modal element had. I would check and will make a feature request on this, so it might be taken into account in the future.

Thanks for understanding.

Hi @sgchan,

I wanted to add here that you can still use the Content Area Modal. Under Pro > Settings you can enable it again per user role. We removed it from the element list as it is no longer the preferred way to work with modals, but the Dynamic Rendering feature is one unique case where the content area modal might still be more useful.

We plan on making that available with the new Modal element but haven’t decided yet how that will work because we are also going to make new Slider elements that will have content considered “offscreen”. Most likely we will add options to the Video and Audio elements to reset when they come into the screen, but we’re going to wait until the Slider is fully developed and we can try a few different ideas first.

Meanwhile, feel free to continue using the Content Area Modal element.

@alexander - Thanks! Yes, I think Content Area Modal is a bit clunky compared to the new Modal available. However, I am implementing it solely because of the Dynamic Rendering feature. I’m looking forward to the enhancements on the new Modal.

@tristup - Thank you for your response too.

Hi @sgchan,

You are most welcome.
