Yoast SEO plugin not working

Hi there,

Last week I’ve downgraded the WordPress version to 5.3 for testing purposes.

Since then my Yoast SEO plugin isn’t working anymore. It says it is not compatible with my version of WordPress and I need to upgrade. But you’ve said that X-theme only supports 5.3.

What do I do?

Is it safe to upgrade yet?
Or has it something to do with the downgrade?

I have uninstalled Yoast, but now I can’t install the plugin again.

Thanks for reaching out.

As per our version compatibility page, the supported version of WordPress is 5.3.2.
Here the supported version is more like a stable version, which users can safely use given with the already released plugins and theme.
While the recommendation is just for general advice depending on which plugins or theme are installed (versions), and it may have a different and unknown effect depending on the setup.

So if you have already completed your testing, I would suggest you upgrade your WordPress version which Yoast support.

Please remember that we are still testing our themes and plugins with the updated version of WordPress, and will release once passed the test.
