Yoast seo conflict for website tagline

Hello

I recently installed yoast seo. Unfortunately my websites tagline is now gone. The site title is correct, but the tagline is pulling in plugin information and that is what is listed in google.

When you type in Chris Ware Photography into google. The tagline is: PORTFOLIO. Type and Press “enter” to Search. web analytics. This site is protected by WP-CopyRightPro.

However, It should be: Director of Photography for Feed Me TV, and a 20 time NY Emmy award winning camera operator based in New York.

When I goto the Home page, I can see my tagline below the site description and when I click the edit snippet link I can see tagline as a variable. Looking at the preview I see the proper tagline, yet google didn’t index the page with the correct tagline.

The tagline is currently correct in two places: wordpress/general settings also, theme customizing site identity tagline

Any ideas?

thanks

Hello Chris,

Thank you for the details. You will need to edit each of your pages especially your homepage and make sure that the Title and Description are exactly what you want to display.

Go to Pages, and edit the page:

When you are in the page editing screen, check your title and description:

By the way, I have checked your site and it has the correct description as shown below:

It could be that Google has an old cached version of your site. Please ask Google to re index your updated site instead. to do that, please check this out:

Hope this helps.

thank u!

Do you have any recommendations on how to change the sitelinks that display below the description to only be the pages I currently have? Google search console no longer allows you to demote pages that it displays as a sitelink below the tageline. If you google, chris ware photography, some of the sitelinks are current, some are old. Any ideas on how to display the current pages only??

Hello Chris,

You might need to ask Google to re-index or crawl your site again so that your site links in the search results will be updated. Only Google knows how or when to update the search results.

Thank you for your understanding.
