Yoast not reading X theme content

Hello,

I’ve read several topics on this on the forums, but none of them have a posted solution. Pages that I build using X theme/Cornerstone are not read by Yoast. One page this is affecting is here: https://www.parkinson.ca/resources/exercise-and-wellness/. How can I get Yoast to recognize the content?

See screenshot below.

I am running Wordpress 5.7.1 and Conerstone 5.1.5.

I will reply with login credentials as a secure note.

Hello Marina,

Thanks for writing in! I have checked your site and I found out that you are using an older version of the X theme (8.1.2) and Cornerstone (5.2.3) plugin. Could you please update to the latest versions?
Our latest versions are:

  • X theme 8.3.3
  • Cornerstone 5.3.3
  • WordPress 5.7
  • PHP 7.4

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog:

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the help. I’ve updated X and Cornerstone and purged the cache for that particular page. The text length is still reading as 0.

Hi Marina,

SEO Yoast can only score what it can see, unfortunately, it seems can’t see the content inside the Content Builder, that being said, just because Yoast SEO can’t see your content doesn’t mean that search engine crawlers can’t.

Try Google’s Lighthouse instead to improve the site SEO.

Thanks,

Will a search engine normally pick up content inside the Content Builder? I just tested this by searching for another page on our website and Google was only able to read the H2 headings.

Hi Marina,

The answer is yes, but please keep in mind that bot is reading the actual live page, not inside Content Builder. Here’s a bot simulator you can see that it can read your page content.

If you need to modify the page Google result preview, Yoast provides the Meta Description field (https://prnt.sc/13guksl).

Thanks,

I suppose not much more can be done. Thanks for the advice and suggestions, Friech.

You are most welcome.
