Yoast Local SEO part two

It’s been awhile so I am having to create this new topic as a followup to this previous one.

When I proceed as described in that post, I get this message when I attempt to use Cornerstone to create the page content:

Uh oh!

No suitable preview area found. This could happen when a third party plugin is overriding the content area or

“The Content” is not being output by the current layout.

Hey Jon,

Can you tell us what you tried? Did you try both creating a Single Layout and allowing Cornerstone to edit the post type?

That message will show up if you edit the page of a post type. Please try creating the Single Layout. Here’s the full documentation where you can learn: https://theme.co/docs/single-templates

I just now went through this sequence:

1. Created a Single Layout by clicking the + tab at the top of the Cornerstone screen.
2. I named the layout “Location Layout”.
3. I clicked the Settings tab on the layout and assigned Post Type is Location.
4. Then I tried creating a Post from within Cornerstone, but I did not see a way to create the Post with Post Type of Location.
5. When I tried to assign the Location Layout to my post, I got the Uh Oh message.
6. If I then use Yoast to create a location post, it doesn’t offer the option of using Cornerstone to build it.
7. If I save the Yoast-created Location post and switch to Cornerstone, when I try to edit the Location post I get the Uh Oh message. If I then try to change the layout for that post to Location Layout, I again get an Uh Oh.

Hello Jon,

If Location is a post type, you must Allow editing with Cornerstone in Cornerstone > Settings > Permissions first. Once it is enabled, you can create a Location within the builder. The Location layout may be in use to create it.

It works for me now too. I think my problem was expecting the post layout to work the same as the page layouts do.
