Thanks for writing in! Adding widgets for the sidebar should be done in Appearance > Widgets. You can display the sidebar in your single posts as long as you have set to have a sidebar globally in X/Pro > Theme Options > Layout And Design > Content Layout .

It is either X if you are using the X theme or Pro if the currently active theme is the Pro theme.
