On a site we’re working on, it appears that Yoast SEO isn’t able to scan its content effectively, so is there a fix or a compatible SEO plugin that you could recommend? Thank you.

In the latest Pro theme, if you use Pro editor in building your pages, Yoast should be able to scan the text in it. Just make sure that your text is in a headline or text element. Could you please share a screenshot of the Yoast SEO page analysis to one of the pages?

Yoast SEO’s content analysis for pages created using Cornerstone is not accurate because Yoast bases its analysis on the “actual” content of the page/post in the database. Cornerstone content is on a separate database table. However, this affects only the accuracy of Yoast’s analysis report but not the actual search engine ranking of the page because search engines evaluate the “rendered” page.
So the team made adjustment to make it work last year. Here’s exaplanation from the developer:
In May of last year we did an update to Pro and Cornerstone introducing a plugin to the Yoast analyzer. It allowed Yoast to read the text in the page builder even though it’s not stored in the same location as the WordPress page content. We’ve had some reports of this no longer functioning as intended. We definitely want to make sure that it’s working. We’re trying to get this fixed for our next release.

But that page was built with Pro’s editor, so shouldn’t it work?

Thanks for updating the thread.
I have tested Yoast SEO and Pro theme content builder and there seems to be some issues wherein Yoast is not reading the content that’s added into the page using text and headline element. So even if the page is designed using Pro content builder, there is issue wherein both are not able to communicate.
As my colleague stated in previous reply we are aware of this issue and are working towards releasing solution for the same. Please keep an eye on changelog for latest product related news and updates.

Okay, thank you for your help. To clarify, you’re saying Yoast will still help with SEO, it just doesn’t display its scan results accurately? Is there a better compatible SEO plugin that you’d recommend?

Yoast is by bar the most popular and among the best SEO plugins for WordPress. I would recommend you to continue using Yoast SEO as it’s the backend content analyser that’s having some issues. Our development team is working to resolve the issues.
However, I would like to clear up that there is no issues at all when it comes to your websites actual search engine rankings and how search engines crawl the website. Yoast does a great job in helping websites rank better in search engines.
