Confusion - am new to X - which should I implement X or PRO? As there appears to be no documentation for PRO?

The X theme is highly recommended for beginners and intermediate users. You can make use of the Site demos in the Design Cloud so you can set up your own site quickly.
The Pro theme, on the other hand, is geared towards intermediate and mode advanced users like designers, developers, etc. The Pro theme has it’s own header and footer builder which would allow you to create a unique header/footer and assign it to specific pages in your site.
