I’ve reported this previously and it keeps happening and is causing me all kinds of problems as well as time and effort fixing them. How can I stop this happening? - Hi, is there a circumstance where X can actually update itself. I don’t mean the automatic update feature, I mean X actually went from 6.04 to the very latest version in my wordpress live system last night - actually pushed it live (which led to a bunch of style issues that meant I had to restore yesterday’s system). Thanks, Neil
Hi Niel,
There is no such feature that X/Pro theme would update itself automatic. It would only show you the latest version of the theme which you can update, that’s the automatic feature of the theme.
Can you confirm that there are no one else access to your website? I guess someone clicked on the Update button.
Regards!
Nobody has access other than me but it happens regularly. I get a message at the top of my Wordpress admin saying “congratulations, X has been updated…” and it causes all kinds of problems as I still have 2 sites using Visual Composer. Is there any way something could be forcing theme updates as it’s definitely happening? Thanks, Neil
It just happened again on one of my sites. I just logged in and there’s the message saying X has been updated. See screenshot.
Hi Niel,
As mentioned above, there’s no such feature offered by X/Pro theme. Meaning that you need to run the the automatic updater manually.
Most probably if you have installed your WordPress through some automatic script installer, it may such feature that force updates automatically. You need to check with your hosting provider to find more information about this.
Thanks!
