I just updated my X Theme, and now my site is completely down. When I switch to a native Wordpress theme, the site content shows up, when when I change back to X, my website shows a “this page is not working” error. Any ideas on what I need to adjust in order for Wordpress to show my site on X Theme? Thanks.
Hi @jennetcetera,
Thank you for writing in, Please clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.
Also, please increase your site’s PHP Memory Limit as you’re running a number of plugins.
And another thing, your PHP Version 5.4.45 is kind outdated, Wordpress requires PHP 7.4 or greater. Please contact your host on how you can upgrade PHP version.
Cheers!
Hi Friech – looks like updating my PHP version did the trick. I also increased my PHP Memory Limit. I am now able to view my site from the front end. However, as I was attempting to clear my caches, my plugins began throwing some errors, and only a few are showing up on the plugin page within my WP admin even though the page states that I have more than that amount installed. As a result, I received an email from Wordpress explaining there was an issue with X Theme, and I’m attaching that email in a secure note. Any more advice would be helpful as I’ve tried all of the troubleshooting that I know, thanks!
Hey @jennetcetera,
Please try reinstalling X and Cornerstone and check if the issue will come back. If it does come back or the error will persist, please switch to the parent theme and temporarily deactivate all 3rd party plugins and give us the following information in a Secure Note and we will investigate further.
- WordPress Login URL
- Admin level username and password
Thanks.
Hi there – Everything is now updated & I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled the Theme + Child theme. I’ve also switched to the parent theme & deleted all inactive plugins. Things are working pretty well, I’m only having an issue viewing all plugins. Similar to my note above, my plugins page says I have 12 plugins, but only 1 is showing up in the list. When I switch to another theme, all of my plugins show up as normal. Can you take a look for me? I’m adding login credentials for you in a secure note. Thanks!
Hi @jennetcetera,
I see some critical errors in your plugin page, would you mind sharing your FTP credentials so we can investigate more about your issue.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
Sure thing – sending in a secure note here.
Hi @jennetcetera,
I log in into your files using the FTP and rename the plugin
folder to plugin2
to disable all the plugins and after refreshing the plugin page in the WP dashboard, I rename it back the plugin2
folder to plugin
. After several tests, I already found the culprit causing your plugin page not to work, the culprit is the WP Editor plugin. The said plugin is already deactivated and your plugin page in your WP dashboard is now working.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
Interesting, thank you!
Hm actually, now I’m not able to see some interior pages whenever I create using the Go Portfolio plugin. Within the secure note is the page I am trying to reach – I could see and edit this with Pro yesterday.
Hi @jennetcetera,
The specified URLs are accessible to us and can see the detailed output. Please find the screenshot in a secure note.
Please let us know if you still getting this issue at your end.
Thanks
Hah! No clue why it wasn’t working for me yesterday, but we’re all good today. Thank you for helping out and following up. We are good to go here √.
