X Theme 'playground' for Higher National Diploma Graduates

Good morning,

I have used your amazing theme for around 5 years and just love it! So much so that I would love to spread this to our future designers/developers.

I teach Higher National Diploma Graphic Design at Bedford College UK and at the end of the April I am going through how to create an online portfolio - from an introduction to hand coding to premium themes out there. I really want to push you guys as I do think you are the best.

There will be around 25 students and I wondered if you have an environment in which they could go into and I can teach them how to use it / play around - as you can imagine it would be too tricky / time consuming to install 25 Wordpress platforms!

I look forward to your thoughts

Hey @hyperdrive_boom,

The best option for your plan currently is to use or setup WordPress Multisite (see https://www.wpbeginner.com/glossary/multisite/) in your own server or web host. I believe there are WordPress MU plugins out there that will allow your students to register and create a site in your network. Once you’ve installed our themes in your network, it will be available for all sites in your network. Just note that WordPress MU has 2 URL setup options. They are the Sub Domain and Sub Folder setups. You can only use Sub Folder setup if you wish to use 1 license because if you setup Sub Domain, you’ll need separate license for each site.

If you really wish a standalone setup so maybe your students could install their own child theme, you’ll need something like a sandbox host like https://qsandbox.com/app/

Right now, we have no environment for testing and there’s currently no plans to setup one. But, your idea has been forwarded to our leadership team so they might take this into account for future business plans. Please just note that this is not a guarantee nor a promise that such a service would be available.

Hope that helps.

Good morning and thank you for these suggestions - I will have a think about these and come back to you if I have any questions.

Kind Regards,
Jason

Feel free to let us know how it goes, Jason.

Cheers!
