My website, eprewitt.com, is running version 4.01. I was made aware that this was a very old version. I thought it was supposed to update automatically.

In my own opinion, it is not advisable to auto-update the themes because it might break your website if there’s a major update. That being said, I highly suggest copying your live website into a staging area and do the updates there. Once confirmed that there’s no issue when updating the theme to the latest version, you can re-upload the staging to your live website.
