X Theme - header/menu and footer and featured image randomly gone from blog post articles - need help!

Hello,

I’m using X Theme. Today when using the Cornerstone Page Builder to update pages, I noticed my header, menu, footer, and featured images, and post H1 titles on my blog articles were totally missing, and there is no margin/padding on the left and right sides of my text in the blog articles. My body texts go all the way from the very left side of the screen to the right, like a poorly designed 1990’s style webpage.

My pages are okay - they have the header/menu footer, etc. and are displaying correctly. It’s just the blog articles that are in trouble.

I didn’t do anything unusual during my page editing, or in other words, nothing I haven’t done dozens of times in the past when editing pages. The problem just randomly started happening.

I did a total website restoration with a copy of my website using my UpdraftPlus backup plug in, rolling EVERYTHING back to what it was yesterday (data tables etc.). The problem resolved itself for a few seconds then started again.

I’m pretty WordPress and X Theme illiterate. Would someone be able to walk me through how to get my header/menu, footer, featured image and H1 title of the article back on my blog articles?

Also my background color to my blog posts is an dark brown color, where before it was white. I know how to fix this from the Page Builder app. But I found it weird that my posts were plain white all this time, then all of a sudden, this brown color I set when I first installed X-Theme, before I knew how to use the Page Builder properly, is showing up.

Thanks,
Andrew Feazelle

I’m sorry - one more thing to mention.

I cannot do searches of my blog posts anymore using the search entry bar. This too has somehow been corrupted or something.

When I type in a word or phrase to search for on my blog, and hit enter, instead of going to a page that displays the most relevant blog posts, it randomly takes me to an individual blog post. Likely it takes me to what would have been the first blog post displayed on the search results.

Perhaps this information is helpful in troubleshooting my problem.

Update: I tested my problem under a different theme and it’s still persistent, so this isn’t an X Theme issue.

This is a WordPress issue…

Sorry to bother the forum with this afterall, but if anybody knows the answer, let me know!

Hi Andrew,

Glad to know that you are able to find the reason behind your problem.

Thanks

Thank you!

I thought I was going to have to delete my wordpress and reupload/redownload everything.

But overnight, some of my plugins updated automatically and this fixed the problem with my site. I think my internet must have gone down for a few minutes when these plugins were in the middle of an update. Then on their second try, they updated successfully and everything is working properly.

I did lose a day’s worth of work from rolling my site’s data back a day from the last known good backup. But that’s much easier to fix than figuring out API keys to talk to Bing and Google, syntax for my calculated field form calculators, and all the other nuances of my particular plug ins.

Take care,
Andrew Fez

You are most welcome, Andrew.
