X Theme and Cornerstone not automatically updating

For some reason X Theme and Cornerstone are not automatically updating. I have manually updated as you have explained - great thanks - but there is a newer version of Cornerstone and it is replying that this is not possible unless I validate X. Dashboard is showing that my new version of X is validated! Should I revoke the license and revalidate? Or am I going to have to manually update from now on - a real pain! Thanks.

Thanks for writing in!

If your theme is validated the message shouldn’t show.
Can you please delete the cornerstone and just click on X-> Validation, so that it will install a fresh latest version of the cornerstone and activate it automatically.

Before that please take a backup of your website to avoid any damage.
If that doesn’t help please send us your login details to check it.
Please send in a secure note.

Thank-you for your prompt reply. I have deleted Cornerstone and clicked on X- Validation as you suggest. Cornerstone 3.1.5 is reloaded - saying auto update unavailable.

X -Theme validation briefly said that 6.1.6 was latest available, but pressed check now and now it has gone back to 6.1.5 as latest available. It seems that auto update is not happening. Previously it had been similarly stuck on version 5 - hence my manual update. Can you help please.

Hi Richard,

I have disabled some of your plugins temporarily and then I was able to update Cornerstone plugin.

Here are the plugins I have disabled

  • WP Fastest Cache
  • Wordfence Security
  • Jetpack

I have re-activated them after updating. One of the plugin(s) may have interrupted the updates.

At the X-Validation it show installed version as 6.1.5 - check now and it returns ‘Nothing to report’. I know there is a version 6.1.6. Tried disabling same plugins as you tried, but nothing changes. Feels like it is not going to spot new versions to update automatically.

Hi Richard,

Upon checking, I was able to experience the same issue. Now it seems you have updated Cornerstone before X theme which seems to be the issue.

I have disabled Cornerstone plugin temporarily, then head over to Dashboard -> Updates section and clicked the “Check Again” button. Then I was able to see the available updates including X theme and other plugins.

Could you please try it on your end and see if you can update X theme. If you’re still experiencing this issue, we can report to our developers.

I deactivated Cornerstone (which is already version 3.1.6) and then X Theme shows 6.1.6 available. Press check now and it reverts to 6.1.5 being latest available and Cornerstone is reactivated. Whats the best thing to do?

I was able to update the X theme by disabled the Cornerstone plugin.

Everything should be fine now.
