I’m trying to use the x_recent_posts shortcode to show some blog entries in the sidebar. However it generates multiple paragraph entries that are not there in the code. Could you please assist to find the source of these paragraphs or maybe you already saw this problem on another site?

Thank you for writing in, yes we are aware of that issue and our Dev Team is already looking into that. That issue is happening because WP 4.8 changed something with wpautop
For now to fix this please remove the recent post shortcode from your text widget (copy & paste it to a notepad).
Install and activate this plugin and add your recent post shortcode back to your text widget.
Make sure to clear any caching plugin the site might have before previewing the page.
