X (Production) and Pro (Staging) any Licence Issue?

Hi there,

Could you please just confirm this for us…

We have a X (4.6.4) production site that we want to rebuild from scratch with a fresh install of Pro, in a staging environment.

Can we add our staging environment address to our X licence, then ‘convert’ the licence to Pro. Download a fresh Pro to the staging site and develop over next few weeks, but without that causing issues to our live and working production X site? (as technically until we switch to Pro, the X site will be running in production on a Pro licence).

Thanks for writing in!

In theory you can do this and it won’t cause any issues, however the production environment will show as unvalidated within your WordPress Admin until Pro itself is installed, this won’t have any affect though on the functionality of your site.
