X Pro Website Not Loading in Chrome

Hey guys,

This is my first time on the new support site and it looks amazing! Well done on that, its very community like, nice :v:
I’ve been using X and now X Pro for a little while now and its helped me to understand a lot of different things in Web Design. From block templates to SEO its helping me a lot!!

I’ve been building a website for my dad for some time now and I’ve never been bothered by when on the site there is a white bar running down alongside the home page. It never annoyed me because the site continued to load as expected through Safari although it wasn’t until today I tried it in Chrome to see what it was like on other browsers and its completely mashed. I’m A University Student that uses YouTube tutorials for most things I do and I’ve been hunting this white bar for some time and I haven’t had any luck I’m assuming thats the reason why the page isn’t loading on chrome I could be missing a closing tag somewhere or a missing “/div” although the CSS and JavaScript I have used is minimal.

The website is www.TaxiToursNI.com

Would it be possible for one of your guys to have a look and point me in the right direction? I was always wondering why the bounce rate was astronomical - Probably because they’re having a page of mush thrown in their face :man_facepalming:t2:

Thanks in advance!

Hi there @PaulMccaff,

Thanks for the kind words about the new community site, glad you like it.

I’ve checked out your site in Chrome and it loads for me on a Mac (https://monosnap.com/file/ZSiyS5acoD7MVuES8qjfErSkmklMZf#) but you have a large area of whitespace at the bottom of the site which is related to the SVG separators, can you send me a screenshot of how you have those setup for your sections please?

Thanks!

Hey bud!!

Sorry about the late reply, I’ve been really busy this last month starting my new job, getting ready for university exams and stuff , Ill send a couple of screenshots of how the webpage is loading. The issue has actually came across onto all browsers the nav bar and content below have all formed in almost a single column. Cards that were once side-by-side are now ontop of each other?

Sorry for the late reply once again.

Hope to get the issue resolved

Hey There,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:

Set it as Secure Note

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password
  • FTP credentials

All the best!

Hi again,

Thank you for providing the credentials. I checked your site and you’ve an invalid script in your home page’s custom JS in Cornerstone. Please remove the script to fix all issues.

Cheers!

Hi Nabeel,

Much thanks for the support! - I removed the selected JavaScript and still the issues persist, cleared the Cache for the site also.

Thanks in advance.

Paul!

Hey Paul,

The given WP credentials is no longer working. The username seems invalid. Did you happened to remove it?

By the way, We recommend that you increase your memory allocated to PHP. To increase it, please edit your wp-config.php file and insert these lines:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

You can add it before the line
/*That's all, stop editing! Happy Blogging. */

We would loved to know if this has work for you. Thank you.

Hello There,

Could you please login to your CloudFlare account and purge everything. I would also recommend that you go to CloudFlare > Speed and disable the minification of JS and CSS.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi,

I have managed to somewhat resolve part of the issue. Initially when I came onto the forum it was in relation to the Chrome browser then the issue had spread amongst a few. I deactivated W3 Total Cache and that has done the trick to allow Safari to work again. I also tried deactivating CloudFlare although it did nothing extra.

Now the site will load as regular on Safari although on Chrome, Mobile and Web the website is still that sort of 1 column mush I was talking about earlier.

Small progress! But I’m thankful for the ongoing advice! Great service!

Hello There,

Thanks for the heads up. I would recommend that you do the following.
1.) Please follow the suggested CloudFlare settings from this tip:
https://xthemetips.com/using-cloudflare-rocket-loader-with-x-pro-and-x5/928/

2.) In CLoudFlare, purge everything and turn on development mode. Development mode will automatically get deactivated after 3 hours.

3.) In your WP dashboard, go to W3 Total Cache settings and flush all the cache.

The caching is crucial and must be in sync because the caching issue would occur if the CloudFlare cached the cached version of W3 Total cache which is not up to date.

Hope this make sense. Please let us know how it goes.
