X Pro Video Header not working in Chrome & modal search not working in browsers

Hi there,

I’m new to the form and Apex community of users I did already post but don’t think in the right place. Would you be able to advise. I’ve tested my video header in Firefox and Safari it’s working fine but not in Chrome. I’ve also got an issue where the modal search in my footer is working in the builder but not in the site preview. Please advise what I need to do. Many thanks, B

Update - I fixed the Video Header issue. I removed Video Lock plugin and also re-encoded the Header video as an .mp4 - Now working fine.

However, the issue with my modal search still persists.

Hey there,

I’ve tested adding the Search Modal in the footer in my test site and it doesn’t work too. I’ll submit a bug report to our core developers. For now, please don’t use the search modal in the footer.

Thanks.

Hey Xian,

Okay thank you. Will await a fix.

Best,

Ben

Thanks for understanding.

Please also note that video also doesn’t work for mobile devices, although it might work in some browsers at regular PC screens.

Hi there,

We’ll check that too, but keep in mind that videos are not auto-played in mobile, it should display poster image in its place. We’ll check that as well.

Thanks!

This is very true and it’s one of the reasons why I’ve since decided to ditch the hero video header and I’ve now created a video lightbox activated by a button instead using the shortcode in a text element. Much cleaner for the overall design.

Thanks for sharing your workaround.

Did this get resolved?

Hello @suzannereid,

Thanks for writing in. While we can’t share our specific development timelines on anything, we certainly want you to rest assured that we have noted this and will work to get to it when possible as we work through other items in our development queue. You can keep up with the latest releases and what has been added/changed/fixed at our changelog:

Cheers!

Cool, thanks Kory!

Hi Guys,

Just doing this myself on the following site and same thing - video header plays fine on all except CHROME. Any idea on how to address this?

Hi @SkeeterHarris,

Thanks for writing around! I checked your site in Chrome and the video header works on my end, I’m on windows environment, which OS you’re using? However you can first try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

If this doesn’t help then try re-encoding the Header video as an .mp4.

Hope this helps!
