X & Pro Licenses

Hi Support,

When I purchased my first X Theme recently, I was offered the Pro Theme license at a great discount, so I purchased the Pro Theme, too. I assumed that I would then have a license for the X Theme I purchased and a separate license for the Pro Theme. When I look at my account, I see two license numbers (can you see them?). One is identified as Production and the other as Staging. So, I thought that meant that the Pro Theme added a second license so that I could have both a staging and production site. So far, I have only activated 1 license on my development site (local internal site). When I tried to activate a second X Theme using the other license number yesterday on a hosted site, the X Theme told me that the license is already in use. It didn’t matter which license number I entered. Also, I’m was trying to use the X Theme on both sites. Maybe what I have is 1 X Theme and 1 Pro Theme license and therefore I can’t activate 2 X Themes and No Pro Themes?? Not sure…

The only site I have with an active X Theme is my development site (the one listed on my account), but it’s marked as Production instead of Staging. I don’t know why.

I guess I’m confused on what I have. If you can’t see my licenses, I can post those as private data. I looking for some clarification since I thought I would be able to activate either 2 X Themes or 2 Pro Themes. Maybe it’s just 1 X and 1 Pro…

Hello Chuck,

Thanks for writing in!

For normal license purchases, you will have something like this:

If you have purchase X theme, then you should have a separate license from the X pro. You will only see two licenses when you have upgraded X to Pro which could be the case.

The first license is from Themeforest and then other one is from Theme.co. You can use the ThemeForest license to validate X theme since you can still download X theme from ThemeForest. The theme.co license can be use to validate Pro theme and you can always download a fresh copy from your APEX dashboard.

Both of the licenses can be used to validate your production site and your staging site. For example, you are using X theme in your staging and production site. You will have to use the Themeforest license to validate X theme. And if both your staging site and production site is using Pro theme, you will have to use the Theme.co license to validate Pro theme.

Hope this explains it briefly.
