SOLVED!
Just made a duplicate of the main page and then addressed this duplicate as new index page and everything started working smoothly. No wonder what caused the issue, most probably URL structure but now it works.

I have a X site for which I bought SSL certificate and it’s now in action. Making changes to pages works otherwise fine but if I make changes to index page, Cornerstone says everything went fine with the big green horizontal line and then when I click Dashboard icon, Cornerstone says You have not saved any changes.
And this happens only with index page.
Also I have Envira Gallery in use but it doesn’t show any images on public side, just says “The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.” The pictures are there in admin side but I guess there are some conflicts with http and https ?
Please help me with this issue.
