X / Essential Grid / Video not in Lightbox

Hi there!

I have severale essential-grid items on a page with youtube playlists as source.

When I click on an video, it starts playing - that’s what I expect, but at the same time, a lightbox opens, playing this video again, while the video in the grid keeps running, so that the video runs twice at the same time with an delay of about a second …

How can I configure essential grid, so that no lightbox is used and the videos are only played in the grid?

Thanks for writing in.

You could disable lightbox in the Global Settings of your Essential Grid.

Hi Nico,
thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work:

1.) Right now, I use only video-grids, where I need no lightbox. But in the future, there will be also grids with images, that will definetly need lightboxes. So I don’t want to switch them of generally, but only in my youtube-grids.

2.) If I switch of the lightbox as suggested, clicking on the video in the grid opens directly youtube - that’s not what I want, i want the video to be played in the grid, at the place and in the size of the preview image. That should be the usual way videos are played in a grid?

Hey Uli,

In that case, please try deselecting everything in the Source Order in your grid’s lightbox setting. See https://www.themepunch.com/essgrid-doc/lightbox-options/#enable-lightbox
