X-child installation problem

Hi team,
I tried uploading the x-child theme .zip as well as tried in ftp. In both the case it says parent theme missing. Please help. thanks.

Hi there,

First, kindly double check that you have installed the parent theme first. If the parent theme is already installed, kindly double check that the parent theme folder name that is in the themes directory in FTP is x and is not renamed.

the parent theme is installed, that iam sure. and one thing iam confuse is that there is no x(folder) in theme directory.

Can you please try to delete both the folders and try re-installing X Theme again? There might be a case of corrupt installation. After deleting both X folder, please install X Theme first and then install Child Theme.

if i delete them, won’t i lose my site? Attachment is the screenshot of theme directory.

Hi There,

Deleting theme file will not lose any data if you don’t have any custom code in the theme file. If you have done any customization please move the code to child theme first and then back up your files.
After that delete all the folder, X and -X-child then re-install it.

Iam a little confuse here. I hvent install the child theme. so how to i move the code? and which folder do i delete? i dont have x(folder). There is wp-content/theme/(and files). Iam sorry if all my question is a Newb question. I really need some help.

Hi There,

Upon checking your Themes folder, there was no directory called x, so I have created it and moved your theme files there.

I have tried to login to your WordPress back-end, but I’ve received the following error (see secure note). Could you please try login to your site now and then head over to Appearance -> Themes section and activate the new X theme. Then you should be able to install Child theme as well.

If you dont mind me asking, May i know how was the cornerstone activation fixed? why was it not accepting my code?

It looks like you tried to install cornerstone as a theme.

Please note that Cornerstone is a plugin.

Actually conerstone activation message started when one of your staff check my theme directory. Its ok though. since its all fixed. Thanks a lot.
