X (6.3.6) Update Removes WPBakery Customizations & Integration Setting

After updating to X Theme 6.3.6 all of a site’s pages, initially created with WPBakery/Visual Composer, have reset and all of their customizations have been removed. Background images, alignment, spacing, layout, etc is all gone. When previewing the Edit Page, the backend WPBakery elements display but all of the content inside these elements appear to have been replaced with X Theme shortcodes.

After ensuring that the plugins were also updated we noticed that the tab in WPBakery Settings that was previously used for X Integration does not display anymore after updating WPBakery to its most recent version. (However, prior to updating the plugin we did ensure that X integration with Visual Composer was activated).

A (staging) site has been created to give X staff an area to troubleshoot that won’t affect our live site. I will include those details below.

I’m also experiencing the same issue

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, navigate to WPBakery Page Builder Settings > General Settings and make sure “Legacy X Integration” is enabled. A common request we get is to not overwrite parts of the WPBakery Page Builder. We are committed to keeping supporting sites from the early days of X where Visual Composer was our page builder but we’ve consolidated all that integration code under one setting. It used to be enabled by default, but you will now need to opt-in to use it.

Then clear any caching feature and your browser’s cache.

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Hello @be3designs,

Please be aware that due the WP Bakery updates, X Integration tab is no longer available. The option is now in the general settings.

I went ahead and enabled the option. The issue is now resolved.

Please check your site now.
